Proposed deletion of Marc Cannon

edit

The article Marc Cannon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NPERSON as well as WP:GNG. Often mentioned in press, but only in his capacity as AutoNation public face.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please note WP:COI. It appears you are acting as a promotional editor for AutoNation and associated individuals. Please familiarize yourself with these policies. NativeForeigner Talk 23:20, 24 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. NativeForeigner Talk 23:27, 24 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

  Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed you removed my notice, that is perfectly fine. However, it is very disruptive for you to mark all of your edits, whether major [1] , or minor [2], as minor, as it is a means to evade scrutiny for your edits, many of which appear to be promotional in nature. So your edit summary No evidence of Edit abuse , is not exactly correct. NativeForeigner Talk 13:56, 26 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

If substance of individual points within an article remain the same, then the edit is minor in nature. Major edits would be a removal specific attribute or fact or addition of attribute or fact. All edits you highlighted above did not change the nature of any fact or attribute contained within any article. Hence they are considered minor in nature. There was word re-ordering to prove a smoothing and softness to address possibly a concern for "puffery" and we agree on this. But, to put forward that this characterization of major vs. and minor edits is used to be "deceitful" is "outlandish" an a misrepresentation of the nature of edits. Additionally, Wikipedia is a real time encyclopedia and facts are added in real time. This might seem promotional, but that is the nature of a "Real Time" encyclopedia. For example in 1899, if we were writing about "Albert Einstein", to keep current with his unproven theories may look promotional would it not? Tramel33166 (talk) 14:49, 26 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for your pattern of advertising AutoNation related entities. I have attempted to inform you of relevant policies. Your latest response indicates to me that your main purpose here is not to build an encyclopedia, but to game the system and promote AutoNation and related entities.. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  NativeForeigner Talk 23:50, 26 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Autonation Logo 2014.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:15, 18 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
