Speedy deletion nomination of Global Trust Council

edit

A tag has been placed on Global Trust Council, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Removing Speedy at Global Trust Council

edit

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles you created, as you did with Global Trust Council. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 15:48, 19 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Global Trust Council. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 15:51, 19 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Removing Speedy at Global Trust Council

edit

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Global Trust Council. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 16:21, 19 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the speedy tag. But if you don't want this article to be deleted in time, you'll need to add some independent sources (not press releases) to show that this organization is truly notable. Read WP:RS. good luck. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 16:38, 19 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
You do not seem to grasp what Wikipedia is or what an encyclopedia article should read like. If you keep adding text which is essay-like, or obviously promotional, you will be blocked. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 17:09, 19 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of Global Trust Council

edit

I have nominated Global Trust Council, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Global Trust Council. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 17:23, 19 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. However, please know that editors do not own articles and should respect the work of their fellow contributors on Global Trust Council. If you create or edit an article, know that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. I was trying to help improve the article with the news reference, which is a much better reference that the corporate site you seem to prefer. While I have no proof, I have a pretty strong feeling that you're being paid by the GTC to create this page. If so, the best thing you could have done for your employers would have been to back off and let experienced editors try to help. But you've chosen a different route. FYI, WP:BITE doesn't give you carte blanche to spam Wikipedia. If indeed you are connected to the GTC, I'd be pretty disappointed. As an organization tasked with defending integrity online, this violation of Wikipedia's policies on WP:SPAM and WP:COI would be pretty shameful. And public. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 16:11, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

While we have different methodologies I agree with the above sentiment. This appears to be a spam article. As noted on my talk page I do think that what Shawn is doing is nec, but as a new editor perhaps you should step back and allow him to help. I feel strongly it should be deleted, he thinks it has notability, He knows how to prove that if you let him. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 16:35, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
