Welcome! edit

Hello, TotoCZ, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! --McGeddon (talk) 18:04, 4 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Signing comments edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Talk:Numbers station, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

This is preferable to signing your comments by hand, as it adds a link back to your user page (and user talk page) for anyone who wants to click through.--McGeddon (talk) 18:04, 4 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Numbers station edit

I appreciated you taking the effort to ask a question at Talk:Numbers station. Why then did you add the information anyway after I explained why you shouldn't? I reverted your edit. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:47, 4 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

January 2015 edit

Your recent editing history at Numbers station shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. —C.Fred (talk) 19:53, 24 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

The incorrect assumption you are making is that certain people have the capacity for intelligent discussion.
That's not the issue. The issue is that you need to make the effort to open the discussion and/or report the other party to WP:AN3 if they violate 3RR. This looks like a content dispute rather than outright vandalism, so you don't have "immunity" from 3RR. —C.Fred (talk) 20:05, 24 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

It's mentioned on the talk page, he can comment there why he doesn't want that edit to be included and i'll gladly discuss it, yet he keeps reverting it back. I think I provided enough references, it was me who invested time in getting the MoI confirmation, the archive documents and finally we have new official sources saying the same... But I get your point, it just pisses me off when I see it happen, have a nice day. --TotoCZ 20:21, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
