Neutral point of view editing

edit

Hi there, this recent edit of yours seems questionable to me. You removed Israel and replaced it with countries that surround, but do not include, Israel. Rather than edit per your political POV, which is what this would look like to most people, maybe a more reasonable approach for a global encyclopedia is to find language like "Eastern Mediterranean" that is a little more inclusive of all people in the region who might use labneh. I've take care of that in this edit. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:04, 11 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, thank you for your input. My edit was not political at all, but rather historical: Labneh is not native to Israel; it might be consumed in Israel but that does not make it Israeli food as the article previously stated. Labneh is native to the area historically known as "Greater Syria", or the Levant in more recent historical accounts. Using the term "Eastern Mediterranean", although geographically correct, is inaccurate historically and might be misleading. A simple edit that would change the "Eastern Mediterranean" to "the Levant" would suffice, without stating the countries. I would have done it like this, but I changed to the list of countries as not to sound pedantic.
