License tagging for Image:Sammy.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Sammy.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:09, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Re: Sammy Lee

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, attribution, and autobiography.

For more details, please read the Conflict of Interest guideline. Thank you. LeaHazel : talk : contribs 13:55, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dr Sammy Lee

edit

In this case, all that someone has done is add a notability tag. That isn't in itself a deletion request, just someone questioning how he might be a notable subject. Also, please keep in mind that we do require a neutral tone in articles. The article as it stands now looks to be written to promote or support Dr. Lee. Given that he is, due to his views, very likely a controversial figure, information on criticism of him should also be included (so long as such information follows our biography of living persons policy), and the article copyedited for length and relevance. Also, you may wish to look into using the <ref> tagging system as a way to provide source citations, and to provide specific page numbers or website links to the cites. If these things are done, the article is not very likely to be deleted. Seraphimblade Talk to me 20:41, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also, please consider Help:Section as a guide when writing articles. Improving readability goes a long way. Hope this helps. --Aarktica 22:58, 14 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Sammy Lee (scientist)

edit

An editor has nominated Sammy Lee (scientist), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sammy Lee (scientist) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 17:59, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
