Proposed deletion of Nicole wright

edit

Hello, Tomisswright. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Nicole wright, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Nicole wright to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Speedy deletion nomination of Nicole Wright

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nicole Wright requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. an article about Nicole Wright

edit

Hello Tom (if I am correctly guessing your name)

I see you working on an article about Nicole Wright. As an aside, if you are related, please read WP:COI

The article was created, because the article didn't adequately explain why she is important.

This is not a conclusion by any editors that she isn't important, merely that it was not asserted in the article.

While she sounds like an incredible person, the article itself had many problems, which may have helped lead to its demise.

Wikipedia has its own markup language. Html can be used, but in many cases you were using html where Wiki markup should be used. Unfortunately, the markup language isn't trivial, and can trip up many new editors.

The article contained many attempts to format something as a reference, but none were done correctly, so technically, the article didn't have a single working reference except for Linkedin, Facebook and Amazon, not of which qualify to support Notability.

I'm working that I am lapsing into technical speak.

My suggestion is as follows. If you would like to try again, introduce yourself to the Wp:teahouse where editors are interested in helping new editors.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 19:30, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

One more point, I'm guessing that you added the message to WilliamJE a second time, because you added it once, checked back and didn't see it, and assumed you did something wrong.

That isn't the case. Editors are allowed to remove material on a talk page, and that is what WilliamJE did. He asked me to help out, so I am trying to help out. Please direct any future messages to me or, better yet, to wp:teahouse.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 19:33, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

One more point

You put some work into the article, which may appear lost to you. If you saved it offline, you can use it as a starting point for a new article, although it needs a LOT of work. If you did not save a copy, I can userfy it, that is, make a copy in user space. That would allow other editors at the Teahouse to give more specific advice, if they can see what you had done so far. Just let me know.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 19:38, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thank you

Thank you SPhilbrick. I will use what you wrote and revise the article. I appreciate the explanation.

Because I'm going to be out of town for a couple, days, and worried you might ask for a userfied copy, I went ahead and created it.
You can find it at User:Tomisswright/Nicole Wright.
It doesn't have categories, because we don;t want cats in user space, but you can use this to talk to the good folks at the teahouse, so they can give you specific advice.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 20:37, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
