Username

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

This message would have been more helpful if you gave me a concise reason as to why my username disturbed you. Looking at the username policy alone, I thought you thought this was promotional; that a quote from a living person was promotional of that person. (Eventually I figured it out from the Usernames for administrator attention noticeboard)
I don't agree with your interpretation of my username. No sexual innuendo is or was ever implied in the creation of this user. Thrilltalk 03:02, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I understand that you did not intend a sexual innuendo with your username "Thrill going up my leg". Nevertheless, the phrase "Thrill going up my leg" still is sexual and in a way I find offensive. Could you please change your name to something more neutral? TheslB (talk) 22:30, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Do you have any suggestions for names that might not upset you? Thrilltalk 11:01, 4 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I am glad to hear you may be open to a change. I had actually thought about it and a rather simple reduction to "Thrill going up" would satisfy my concerns. Would that be okay? TheslB (talk) 06:11, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes Thrilltalk 20:31, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have just created a new article at Paulville, Texas, and wanted to invite you and a handful of other friends to have first crack at helping to improve it. Cheers! JJB 21:54, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Jizzlam

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Jizzlam, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Jizzlam is pure vandalism; this includes redirects created during cleanup of page move vandalism.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Jizzlam, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Orphaned non-free media (File:Frontline.svg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Frontline.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:17, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Blank panther

edit

A tag has been placed on Blank panther, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you believe that there is a reason to keep the redirect, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Non-free rationale for File:California Nurses Association logo.svg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:California Nurses Association logo.svg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. czar 04:28, 25 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
