Hi Wiki-Friends,

I`m passionate about scientific instruments and scientific measurement methods that are used by scientists working at universities and governmental institutions.

From time to time I add links and comments to wiki articles dealing with scientific instruments. I try to be accurate as possible in doing so.

Sometimes I add links to a site named http://science.duel.life which houses a library of scientific instruments that are used by scientists. This site contains neutral and accurate material about scientific instruments. For each scientific instrument category one will find almost every instrument that is capable of supporting the scientific measurement method that is listed within the corresponding wiki article. It is not a commercial site, its an information source only.

I guess what I usually add sticks to the official Wiki link rules

"Links to be considered" "A well-chosen link to a directory of websites or organizations. Long lists of links are not acceptable. A directory link may be a permanent link or a temporary measure put in place while external links are being discussed on the article's talk page."

Please do me a favour and contact me on my talk page before removing any of my content. I`m happy to discuss with you if you still consider it as spam or inappropriate. I know that wiki rules are not crystal-clear and give some room for discussions.

Hello Plantsurfer, If your concern is about "promotional" its not an issue at all. The linked site is not a commercial one, there are all tool listed that are available to deploy the scientific method in question (e.g. FIB), no company is featured or receives any kind of advantage. If one talks about scientific methods it should, must, be possible to share information about instruments that support the methods in questions. This is all about wiki. And this is by the way what you find within every scientific publication. I studied wiki rules about external link placing and can surely say that the content sticks to the rules. If you need further proof , search for, e.g. car manufactures, and you will find a list of models. If this is not promotional I wonder why it should be true for FIB or whatever.--Thomas M Bernhard (talk) 23:04, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

I don't think there are any WP articles that function as product comparison sites for cars in the way that your links do for FIB etc. However, if you feel that you can justify their reinstatement under the Wikipedia's rules, then you should put your case on the relevant article's talk page, so that other interested and contributing editors can express their views. If you are the creator or owner or a major contributor to the sites you link to then there may be a conflict of interest under WP rules which you should also declare.Plantsurfer 00:14, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
