Dear Dave, The information i added is through the experience i earned while living in shimoga for 7 years. The particular variety called Mangala was choosen from shimoga for its superior quality and productive results. had bought saplings for an estate back in my state during the stay there. sorry that i could not put a citation as this is just common knowledge amoung farmers there. The article about Nair is provided by non-nairs who wanted to bring a bad name to the proud community. As a community of millions, we find this article a disgrace, a slap in our face. We dont take such invasion lightly as thats why i had to mention government and courts. Sorry it caused any offense to Wikipedia, especially to many editors/administrators who dont know anything about Nair and only saw my mention of courts. Sorry to offend you, but the whole article is crap and should not be published in wikipedia anymore as you can clearly see the major difference from the earlier version which was explaining history as far as 4th century to find the roots of the community but the new one is just a copy-paste from an unknown book by a nair hater, sadasivan published as recent as 2000. In the present day india, many such people like the contributors of the new article exsists who still carry an inferiority complex and find means to vent their frustration, now surpisingly even through Wikipedia. It was dishearting to see that user/editor Siyush was proudly announcing myslef being blocked. this while he being the real culprit and have no business to do with our community. My Sir name is Nair and i hail from a reputed nair family from central kerala. This article is offensive and should be removed immediately. Request reason:
- the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia. Please understand that you are punishing the victim here. I would like to bring your urgent attention to the Article "Nair" which is defaming the Nair community and on a larger scale, Hindus in India. This because, the article is playing with the religious sentiments of Hindus as a whole, In one section article mentions that Beef and Pork are eaten at Nair household and Fish is sometimes "smuggled in". Cow has a special place in Hindu religion as it is considered Lord Siva's (A God) favourite animal and that is why Beef is not cooked in any Hindu homes, let alone in Nair homes, who are a part/caste of the religion. It is known worldover that Hindus refrain from Beef and even Mutton for this reason. It is not me who should really be blocked, but the people like siyush and benben who now have admin facilities who has put such claims in a Wikipedia article. I am not warning Wikipedia with courts as of now, but to the same people who committed this cyber crime.
