Socialism edits

edit

Hi Middle east conflict man.

Good on you for inserting those references about Saddam Hussein and Milosevic etc on the socialism page. I believe the page has a heavy pro-socialist bias. We can co-operate in editing for a more 'balanced view of the page if you wish. I am trying to edit in a section about human rights of regimes claiming to be socialist, but they keep reverting despite the fact that it is verified with relevant citations.

Thanks

Joel.

OK. :D --The Middle East Conflict Man 12:55, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

RE: editing

So nice to co-operate with a virtuous, like-minded person such as yourself who shares my belief for the need for a balanced perspective. Well done. Let's keep it up brother!

Thank you so much for your excellent edits!

Joel

You have been blocked 24 hours for violating the rule against reverting an article more than three times in 24 hours, at Template:Socialism. Please don't edit war; if you find yourself having trouble, seek help from another user or from an administrator before you violate this rule. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Your edits to Socialism appear to be disruptive and irrelevant. I do hope they were made in good faith; if you disagree, please feel free to discuss your edits. Block extended

edit

For using an abusive sockpuppet, User:Carroteater117, I have extended your block by a further 24 hours. If you intend to contribute productively to Wikipedia, please read WP:NPOV and come back in two days rather than looking for ways to avoid your block. --Sam Blanning(talk) 16:22, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

THAT IS NOT ME!!! If you think I lie, check out the IP addresses. It is 60.234.157.64 who just has created that account. Unban that poor guy immediately! --The Middle East Conflict Man 16:49, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

The IP addresses used by registered accounts are private to everyone except the few admins with CheckUser privileges. If it's not you, then how do you know what its IP address is? --Sam Blanning(talk) 17:07, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
He has written "Socialism edits" and "RE: editing" here on my user-talk page. I co-operated with him on the socialism article and a few other articles. --The Middle East Conflict Man 17:10, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
"Co-operated" is an interesting way of saying "our editing patterns are identical and he started editing only when I was blocked". --Sam Blanning(talk) 17:13, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I don't know why he created that account right after I was blocked, however, it is not me. Could you please not ask an administrator to confirm that user:Carroteater117 is 60.234.157.64? Personally, I don't care if I am blocked 24 hours longer, but that poor fellow has been blocked forever. I added a few pictures of socialist leaders on the socialism article, and he added a few. I helped him with an edit war, as well. --The Middle East Conflict Man 17:15, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
On the advice of Joelito, I have requested a checkuser (WP:RCU). Hopefully, this will resolve the issue. Note that identifying Carroteater with the IP does not exclude either of them from being your sockpuppets. --Nema Fakei 17:19, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I searched his IP address on a whois search (http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm?GetLocation), and found out that he lives in New Zealand. I live in Norway... --The Middle East Conflict Man 17:23, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
What did you mean with "Times seem to dovetail with TMECM"? --The Middle East Conflict Man 17:28, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I mean that the times when he has edited have been times when you were not editing. 60.234.157.64 stopped editing when you started, then when you were blocked, Carroteater started. TMECM, in case it's not obvious is supposed to be an abbreviation of your username.--Nema Fakei 17:54, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Actually I was out for dinner. When I came back, to my astonishment, I saw that he had added more pictures on the socialism, plus the "Historical examples of socialism" part. He has not edited only the periods I haven't edited. He has also edited some of the same periods as I, me: 21. mai 2006 kl.15:06 him: 21. mai 2006 kl.15:19, for instance. I understood the abbreviation. --The Middle East Conflict Man 17:58, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ah, yes. This rather interesting [1] edit of your user page. I've added it to the CheckUser page for balance. --Nema Fakei 18:25, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Please tell that person that my IP address is in Norway, and that 60.234.157.64's is in New Zealand, according to IP whois, too. --The Middle East Conflict Man 19:00, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sam Blanning is a liar. Carroteater117 is not an obvious sockpuppet of me, and I have not tried to evade the block. --The Middle East Conflict Man 17:33, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

After you guys blocked Carroteater117, 60.234.157.64 hasn't been editing. Poor, poor fellow. --The Middle East Conflict Man 18:08, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

His IP address is 60.234.157.64, my IP address is 84.234.215.241. Evidence that my IP address is that: | This page with my IP address I created long time ago, I made redirecting to my user page after I created an account for me on Norwegian Wikipedia. Now; please whois those IPs. --The Middle East Conflict Man 19:46, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Middle East Conflict Man

Just wanted to warn you, the admin believes that the vandal known as carroteater117, who has been permanently blocked due to their edits on the Socialism page, is actually you under a different name. Better clear your name or they may block you too. Good job with your bias-busting edits on the Socialism page! Keep it up.

Thanks

Anon

Are you Joel who has been permantly blocked - 60.234.157.64? If so that, please link to this discussion on WP:RCU, because I have dozens of semi evidences here that none of those are socket puppies of me. It's so sad that your IP address has been blocked forever. --The Middle East Conflict Man 08:54, 22 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh, and I see a third user has appeared to 'co-operate' with you. [2] Block extended again, next time you show that you have no intention of contributing productively to Wikipedia it will be indefinite. --Sam Blanning(talk) 09:52, 22 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think that is 60.234.157.64, not 'a third user'. Besides, I had never heard 60.234.157.64 before he contacted me here on English Wikipedia. Stop being such a dickhead, you fucking idiot. --The Middle East Conflict Man 16:43, 22 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sam, you may as well wait for the CheckUser to come back, now. Perhaps no need to further fuel the frustration. TMECM, WP:NPA!--Nema Fakei 16:58, 22 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Tell him to stop lying about me, then. He has no evidence that I have ANY sockpuppets, only an irrational bias without roots in the reality. I HAVE NO SOCKET PUPPETS. However, I think all those are 60.234.157.64's, but please don't ban him forever. --The Middle East Conflict Man 17:07, 22 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

On the appearance of another sockpuppet, User:Freeway, and with the approval of Essjay, who handled the checkuser request and confirmed that your sockpuppetry is obvious, I have extended your block to indefinite. I have submitted my block for review on WP:ANI. --Sam Blanning(talk) 08:58, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

THEY ARE NOT SOCKET PUPPETS OF ME, YOU SON OF A BITCH! I think they are 60.234.157.64's. If you guys not remove that permanently block from me and 60.234.157.64, I'll consider to request my lawyer to take a look at the case. In Norway we have a law against discrimination of people based on their political beliefs, I know. We have a law against lying in public, as well. --The Middle East Conflict Man 13:49, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Please note that you are now in breach of WP:NLT, and WP:CIVIL. Note also that you are not being discriminated against because of your political beliefs, you are blocked because of your apparent use of sockpuppets. Since Sam honestly believes that you are a sockpuppeteer, he is not lying when he says you are nor would he be if what he is saying were to turn out to be false. --Nema Fakei 13:59, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

New to the case: Under section "Når Midtøstenkonflikten-mannen kom tilbake" Quote from Jon Harald Såby 22. mai 2006 kl.14:59 (UTC): "I did a checkuser, and The Middle East Conflict Man hasn't used any other IPs [than 84.234.215.241], and that IP has only been used anonymously and by him." --The Middle East Conflict Man 13:58, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Current List of Suspected Sockpuppets

edit

Editors: add any other suspects or known puppets to the above list, currently in rough chronological order, and remove (preferably strikethrough) only when there is confirmation (checkuser or other similar evidence) that the user is not a sockpuppet. Note that WP:RCU suggests that it's not appropriate to request checks against an existing puppeteer on users with only a few edits, hence the list here. --Nema Fakei 11:09, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

THAT'S A BIG LIE! I HAVE NEVER USED ANY SOCK PUPPETS! --The Middle East Conflict Man 14:11, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hence the use of the term 'suspected'.--Nema Fakei 15:26, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
And why {{sockpuppet}} says "sockpuppet or impersonator". No matter where it comes from, we do not want your inflammatory soapboxing. --Sam Blanning(talk) 16:20, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Frankly, it's a fact that Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Slobodan Milosevic, Muammar al-Gaddafi, Kim Jong-il and Robert Mugabe were socialist leaders. You can't deny the truth, mr. Blanning. Communist leaders: Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot etc. --The Middle East Conflict Man 16:40, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ok I've inadvertantly had a watch on User:130.216.191.184 simply because its our University ip and I've made a couple of edits to it to show this. I just have a query... if all these accounts are supposedly used by the same person, how come two of the ip's read Auckland, one reads Massachusetts, and one reads Norway? And what is the policy on University IP addresses, consdering that there are, I'm sure, people other than the supposed sockpuppeter who may like to edit anonymously from our University? (especially considering this is the university library IP!). -- PageantUpdater 21:10, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Unfortunately, there are people out there who are able to bounce things off proxies in other countries. I know Sam's dealt with one before, and looking at the Checkuser page, I'm sure there're others.
As to conflict concerns, TMECM, let me ask you: if a leader or a nation claims to be democratic, does that mean he/it is? --Nema Fakei 22:08, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
It's irrelevant whether some of them were chosen democratically or not, they are still socialists. Regarding this miscarriage of justice, I have decided to contact my lawyer, referring to the law against discrimination of people based on their political beliefs, and lying in public. Wikipedia generally and Sam Blanning and Essjay individually. --The Middle East Conflict Man 14:18, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'm not arguing they were democratic. I merely asked if, in your view, we should automatically assume a hypothetical leader or a nation which claims to be democratic, is indeed democratic? --Nema Fakei 15:48, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Not necessarily. I would decide myself if they were democratic, according to the common definition. Actually, the politicians listed above are socialists according to the correct definition. --The Middle East Conflict Man 17:20, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I see I can edit pages now. Maybe I will not contact my lawyer after all. --The Middle East Conflict Man 14:30, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
You do understand, don't you, that by beginning legal action, you choose not to edit WP, even if the result of the Checkuser (page is down at the moment, by the way: I think some kind of server problem meant your block stopped working) exonerate you? May I also remind you that by participating in Wikipedia, you have committed yourself to assume good faith in other editors, and remain polite towards them, which you have conspicuously not been doing - irrespective of whether or not you are a sockpuppeteer. May I also point out that Sam has simply been following protocol. Indeed, it would be lying if he said that you weren't a sockpuppeteer, (even if true) since he believes that statement to be false. --Nema Fakei 15:48, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I don't care, this is a MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE. I'm going to contact the lawyer tomorrow in the morning. --The Middle East Conflict Man 17:20, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Tomorrow is a public day-off in Norway. I think I'll have to take it the day after tomorrow. Sam Blanning, you may be in trouble. --The Middle East Conflict Man 22:01, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Some further notes on this user's activity

edit

This guy has also been trolling the Norwegian Wikipedia (no:Bruker:Midtøstenkonflikten-mannen) and the nynorsk Wikipedia (nn:Brukar:Midtaustenkonflikta-mannen) with blatantly pro DLF bias, personal attacks, and egregious incivility. I fully support an indefinite ban from here, and would indeed support it throughout all Wikimedia projects. Sjakkalle (Check!) 09:11, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
