Syndactyly

Hi, TheResearchPersona, Great idea. I'd be more than happy to supply a "post treatment" image. The original image is of my son. He's 4 years old now. Had his corrective operation when he was 9 months old. Stay tuned.

In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. The four tildes

On my Talk page you seem not to have actually typed the four tildes; and the other difficulty you referred to may perhaps have been because of trying to sign an Article page: signing should be done only on a Talk page. If the problem arises because of your keyboard, then I suggest that, when editing a Talk page, you first choose "Insert" in the little window at the foot (just above "Once you click the Save button, your changes will be visible immediately") and click on the four-tildes symbol there. I'm sorry I do not know enough about these things to give you sure advice. If you have tried clicking on the four-tildes symbol that I spoke of, I can only suggest two more possible ways. One would be for you to type ~.~.~.~ and then remove the period marks and see if it works. Another would be to cut from the top of the editing page the four tildes in the phrase "by typing four tiles (~~~~)" and paste them into your text. I presume you know that, by clicking on the "Show preview" button, you can experiment without actually saving anything and see what exactly appears on the screen, in the hope that one of your experiments will be successful. You can test to see whether the suggestion by the editor immediately below (complications due to having so many upper-case letters in your name) is the real explanation, by not logging in, going to User:TheResearchPersona or this Talk page, start to edit it, put in the four tildes in whatever way you wish, and then, by clicking on "Show preview", find whether your four tildes work without your user name. If they do, I would suggest that you choose a simpler User name, and perhaps leave a note here or on your present User page about the new name that you have moved to. Colour blind compliant images

Hi, thanks for your offer to adjust a/some diagrams/maps so that they are distinguishable to the one in ten white males who are colour-blind, like myself. The most common form of colour blindness is Deutan red-green colour vision deficiency. You can find an online colour blindness image filter and downloadable MS-Windows & Mac OSX application at vischeck.com . Just wanting to update this for anyone who might have come across it. I was working on an image way-back, a map, for User:Evilandi, trying to bring it into compliance by-hand. The problem was that it was not only tedious, but night impossible to select all the little specs of detail and convert all their colors to a compliant scheme without having colors run over one another, or to even tell whether one or another was this or that color before doing so because some were such small details that in the context of those around them, they looked different; I had (and have) several strategies in-mind to pursue the goal of converting the map to a better scheme, such that alongside its key it will be legible to someone who is Deutan color-blind, and now some improvements in-mind that should make it easier, but the online apps are not very reliable/functional last I checked, and so first I have to do some more research--and that presupposes having some time for it. --TheResearchPersona (talk) 00:35, 18 May 2010 (UTC)(<--If it says "tooMuchData" [which it did and I fixed it, errr...] and adds the stupid "unsigned" claim through "sinebot" [which it did,

sig fix

Hi. Re: this edit, I'm not sure what is in your signature code currently, but I can tell you why the bot doesn't like it: It doesn't contain a link to a "User:" or "User talk:" page.

You should be able to fix this, with the following: Go to Special:Preferences. Scroll down to the "Signature" section. Put one of these lines of code into the box:

 [[User:TheResearchPersona|tooMuchData]]
 or
 [[User:TheResearchPersona|tooMuchData]] ([[User talk:TheResearchPersona|talk]])
 or
 [[User:TheResearchPersona|TheResearchPersona]] ([[User talk:TheResearchPersona|talk]])

which will look like this:

tooMuchData
or
tooMuchData (talk)
or
TheResearchPersona (talk)

And finally, add a checkmark to the box labeled "Sign my name using the provided wikitext." and click "save".

WOO HOO!!! Thanks a bunch. That's been driving me nuts for years now, and nobody has had any clue as to how to fix it. For some reason the system had [html paragraph opening tag]TooMuchData[html paragraph closing tag] in there, something I never did. I appreciate your tip greatly, and thought that just perhaps if I always added that little diatribe to the end of every post that someone out there might know. : D Thanks again.
