  • Andrew Oakley edit

I'm is based in Gloucestershire, UK where I am a software development manager. I live near Tewkesbury with my wife and children.

I have been a free software advocate, anti-spam expert, web developer, financial systems programmer, goth/industrial DJ, pirate radio newsreader, Young Conservative, 1980's computer magazine contributor and political campaigner for the arts and rural life. I helped create the uk.people.gothic Usenet newsgroup, and wrote and edited the FAQ for a number of years.

Born in 1971, I grew up in Alveley in the Severn Valley, Shropshire, attended Oldbury Wells School in Bridgnorth and completed my Business Computer Systems degree at Cheltenham & Gloucester College in 1994 (then part of the University of Bristol, later the University of Gloucestershire in its own right).

    Awards edit

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
Awarded for soliciting the attention and comment of others in a dispute situation. On a wiki, it is sometimes best for the parties to an argument to state their cases and then turn moderation and decision-making to others, as you do. Thanks for contributing in a kind, meaningful, effective, and non-confrontational way. Bluerasberry (talk) 19:54, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
