Speedy deletion of Upshift softwares

edit

A tag has been placed on Upshift softwares requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ukexpat (talk) 19:32, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the message on my talk page. Please read notability guideline for companies and corporations for guidance as to notability of corporations etc . If a company is not notable, its article does not belong on WP. See also WP:SPAM. For guidance on your first article, see WP:YFA. – ukexpat (talk) 19:45, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sources

edit

Thanks for the message on my talk page. Yes sources are absolutely essential. One of the foundations of Wikipedia is verifiability via reliable sources. If an article cannot be verified by reliable sources, it will not last long in Wikipedia. – ukexpat (talk) 00:23, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Shift Script‎

edit
  • Hi there, can I suggest you look at WP:RS. The tags that you keep removing from your article are there because your sources do not appear to be independent 3rd party reliable sources. Removing the sources tags isn't healping your article, they are there to note what needs to happen to improve the article. I would suggest that some time be spent improving the article with independent reliable references so that it doesn't end up being marked for deletion. --Deadly∀ssassin

  • Hey there, sorry I removed the warning because I added a few sources and thought that was good enough. Thanks for warning me, ill try to improve it with sources and wont remove it. Thanks again. =)

  • No problem - I just didn't want to think that the sources tags were some sort of criticism of your work. You still need to make sure that you improve the sources, because as they are I don't know if they're enough to save the article from deletion. Best of luck. --Deadly∀ssassin 04:29, 20 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
