Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hlogo halo.gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Hlogo halo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:58, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Warning users after vandalism

edit

Hey I notice you do some good vandal-watching but it is important to warn users after they vandalize pages, as typically we can only go to AIV after they've been handed first, second, third, and fourth-level warnings. (Twinkle has some ez-warning tools if popups, doesn't) Thanks! xenocidic (talk) 21:19, 25 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:SneakySnakesBox.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:SneakySnakesBox.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 14:07, 29 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Animsurvivalkit.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Animsurvivalkit.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 04:31, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Venture Bros template

edit

I notice you added Dermott Fictel to Template:VentureBros, so I wonder if you might be able to answer this question. Any idea why the Dermott Fictel link works when you view the template alone, but when the template appears in some but not all of the articles, the link is red? It's red in Brock Samson, Pete White, The Monarch, Doctor Girlfriend, Baron Werner Ünderbheit, Team Venture, Order of the Triad, Guild of Calamitous Intent, Doc Hammer, J. G. Thirlwell, and List of The Venture Bros. episodes. I'm baffled, myself. -- AvatarMN (talk) 20:08, 28 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Trigun: The Planet Gunsmoke, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I don't think the category Cybercrime is appropriate, as no individual or individuals have yet to be convicted of any cybercrime. What do you think? Cirt (talk) 05:30, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

At present it is still being included [1]. I think the consensus about using categories in this manner only after a conviction of a related crime has been established based on prior discussions at the talk page Category talk:American criminals. What is your take? Cirt (talk) 05:35, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
The only source referring to them as such is the Church of Scientology and their associated representatives. Cirt (talk) 05:42, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Agreed, it is. Cirt (talk) 05:43, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
