Reverted edit on CIA page.

The user that placed the origional first sentence in the CIA page quoted a book that does not as a reliable source as the one I cited. What is the point of taking away a more accurate citation at the expense of accuracy? Is this a common rule, and if so can I re-format the citation so that it still reflects the accurate statement from the source of the topic itself?

The first sentence should not be a direct quote. It should be a summary/intro rather than the mission statement. So, no, you should no reformat it into a quote because it should not be a quote to start with.--Terrillja talk 01:29, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
In addition, a few other things- do not cite huge blocks of text in quotes or references or use the text of job offers to describe what a job is. It is unencyclopedic and unneeded. Another thing, don't cite wikipedia. Wikipedia itself is not a reliable source. I had to go through and remove a lot of the text you added because it was unencylopedic and did not contribute to the article in a concise and meaningful way.--Terrillja talk 01:44, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Ok, there are alot of edit I made that you rolled back, and I am wanting to add the information. However, I obviously didn't format it correctly or learn enough for it to be added to this database. What do I need to know about posting the information so that it will be accepted or where can I learn about it? Ahears 01:49, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
I explained above. Per the notice at the top of this page, please keep all discussions here.--Terrillja talk 01:51, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
The edit you recently made to the Double Agent page has resulted in various mispellings of the word "foreign", I will change it to the correct spelling but I just wanted you to know. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 00:52, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
Looks like it got caught up when I was trying to remove the huge amount of unencyclopedic text. Sometimes a collateral edit gets caught up. C'est la vie.--Terrillja talk 17:52, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Re: File:JA9503 You Only Live Twice.jpg

Greetings,

The tag you put claims the picture "has no explanation as to why it is permitted under the policy".

This is the text from the picture's summary: "This screen shot is from the film You Only Live Twice. The aircraft depicted is a Kawasaki Vertol 107-II. The particular aircraft in this shot is a rare commercial airliner version (note the square windows). In addition the aircraft itself - registration JA9503, Serial Number 4004 - had a short life due to it being written off in an accident a short time later."

Does this not qualify as an explanation?

Thanks

It does not meet WP:RAT, and is a replaceable image as there is more than likely another helicopter of the same model that is still in existence. In addition, it does not meet WP:FAIRUSE, which requires critical commentary of the image in the article. As it stands, it shows the image and nothing to add to the article or explain why it is significant.--Terrillja talk 17:50, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
There are quite a few CH-46 Sea Knights around, true. However I would be quite surprised if there are any other Model 107-II helicopters remaining in existiance, at least as anything more than boneyard hulks. The file is a fuzzy, low-resoultion image provided to illustrate the significant use of the aircraft in the movie in the one article only, which is (most likely) the only significant appearance of any CH-46/Model 107 helicopter in any motion picture. - The Bushranger Return fireFlank speed 01:58, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
First of all, per the notice at the top of this page, I would prefer for all discussions to be in one place, I started it on your talkpage and would have preferred that you honor my request to keep it there. Based on [1], there are 4 still in use. And there is no critical commentary in the article, there is an image, it states that it was used in a movie and crashed, nothing to state why the image is significant in the article and what it adds to the reader's understanding of the subject. As I said, the guidelines state that screenshots of movies should be used to explain the movie, not something tangentially related.--Terrillja talk 02:19, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
My apologies, I didn't see that, had I done so I'd have happily done that. I'll pay better attention. Well, if you go strictly by that standard I guess it doesn't qualify. My opinion is either WP:IAR or the standard needs to be changed/relaxed, but if it absolutely doesn't fit, I guess it absoultely doesn't fit. - The Bushranger Return fireFlank speed 02:23, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Censorship section on iPad

Hey, I think this has a place in the article and I've asked the original contributor to comment too, so if you want to discuss this further can you comment on the article's talk page? Thanks. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 18:15, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:IPad Photos.png

Thanks. If someone has an iPad, he can do that; but I've no one, and I think WP:EN needs good quality for its images, and this image is a good one. → Kind Regards, Lppa Let's talk about it! 12:52, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Well the thing is, it's replaceable. One could be found eventually, and our policies do not allow for the use of fair use images until one is found. I'd alo appreciate it if you do not add copyrighted images to my talk.--Terrillja talk 12:57, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
