Backlog; Design

Wikipedia:User_Page_Design_Center has, as you can tell at a glance, a massive amount of backlog. In the interest of cleaning up the department, I'll take up you userpage (just don't expec t to be done today). Resident Mario (talk) 20:48, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

User:Nainki

I declined the speedy deletion of User:Nainki because it was not clear how WP:CSD#G6 applied. If the deletion is indeed appropriate, please feel free to re-speedy the page with an explanation for the deletion. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 03:48, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Small intestine

Regarding your message on my talk page about the article Small intestine, I can think of only two possibilities. Either I accidentally replaced vandalism with older vandalism (it's happened before, so I apologize if this is what I did), or you accidentally sent the warning to me instead of to the actual vandal. --Ericdn (talk) 18:20, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: Admin Coaching

Sure, I'll accept. I've seen you around a bit, and you seem like you have potential to become an administrator someday. When you're ready, create a page at User:Techman224/Admin coaching. Regards, –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 20:57, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Friendly note regarding talk page messages

Hello. As a recent editor to User talk:71.252.55.101, I wanted to leave a friendly reminder that as per WP:USER, editors may remove messages at will from their own talk pages. While we may prefer that comments be archived instead, policy does not prohibit users -including anonymous editors like this one- from deleting messages from their own talk pages. The only kinds of talk page messages that cannot be removed (as per WP:BLANKING) are declined unblock requests (but only while blocks are still in effect), confirmed sockpuppet notices, or IP header templates (for unregistered editors). These exceptions only exist in order to keep a user from potentially gaming the system. Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 21:59, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Glad I could help! Years ago, I too was unaware that IP's were allowed to remove warnings from their talk pages ... until an admin left a similar reminder for me. --Kralizec! (talk) 22:22, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Also, I see that the anonymous editor in question left you a message, which you rolled back, and then issued the IP a vandalism warning. Perhaps the vandalism warning was a mistake which you would now like to redact? Otherwise I do not see how the IP's message meets any of the vandalism definitions at WP:VAN. --Kralizec! (talk) 22:29, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Removing more then obviously merited {POV} and {controversial} templates, and indulging into ridiculous PoV edits that get reverted is not vandalism? C'mon, he's blanking his talkpage warnings under the edit summary "offensive messages" which translates to "I'm playing dumb haha" and you're just defending him. He's prob. an IP of one of the long-time-ago blocked Serb nationalists. --Ivan Štambuk (talk) 01:59, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Re message to LiteratureGeek

No thats not vandalism. Why should it be? We are discussing the habituation potential of tricyclic antidepressives, he mentions a rare case where some mass child murderer had used such pills together with alcohol. I reply, careful, using them together with alcohol proves more to be alcoholism and you cannot derive abuse potential from mixed intoxications. Apart from that such claims may be part of a "temporary insanity" defense, and there has been a recent murder case in Hamburg, where a murderer claimed to have been under the influence of cocaine and it turned out not to be true. What would be the vandalism? It is a completely to the point and scientific discussion on the definition of tolerance, habituation and drug abuse potential, the specialty of that editor. And we are trying to differentiate the development of physical tolerance from addictive properties, with the example of TCAs vs. benzodiazepines vs. beta-blockers. So why are you censoring? And, as we have developed a lot of good edits over such arguments, and he has already jokingly suspected me to work for "Roche", I remark in all friendship, that it is still worth the time and fun arguing with me, I hope. It is time that we put the censorship on a leash, I am afraid. I also don't want to talk on the telephone to a friend and suddenly it is interrupted and it comes a voice "your discussion has become inappropriate and has been interrupted by the telephone civility service". 70.137.151.133 (talk) 04:50, 15 February 2009 (UTC) 70.137.151.133 (talk) 05:25, 15 February 2009 (UTC) Looking at the edit I have to ask myself, if you still read and try to understand what you are censoring, or if that is more automatic, triggered by words like "killer" and "alcohol"? 70.137.151.133 (talk) 05:07, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Mary Yang

I noticed that you had warned an IP user about vandalism after they blanked the Mary Yang page. After reading your talk page I think this part of wikipedia I stumbled upon might be of some use to you to just quickly read over. Not saying its applicable in this case, but it might be something you want to consider going forward. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Don%27t_overlook_legal_threats#User:Headhunter409 TWilliams9 (talk) 06:51, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Rollback removed

I've removed your access to rollback, following your gross misjudgement of these three edits as vandalism. [1] [2] [3]. The first of these edits should not have been reverted at all, as it was a communication about editing: exactly the purpose of user talk page edits. The other two should not have been reverted with rollback because they were good faith contributions: sourced additions to an article. It is arguable that the source isn't good enough but this is not vandalism and an edit summary is needed. Your actions directly contributed to an escalation of bad patroller behavior that led Unrealkitty to be blocked for attempting to make sourced, good-faith contributions.
