A tag has been placed on Cash for laptops, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Cash for laptops. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. Morbidthoughts (talk) 22:28, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Cash for laptops

I see events have overtaken us. Did you know that you can create a page in your userspace to work on an article? Might be an idea to do this and then get someone (an admin preferably) to check it over and see whether it stands a chance of survival before creating it in the main article space. Let me know if you want to know how to do this. pablohablo. 13:32, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I noted the "hangon" tag you placed on the above-captioned article and the material on its talk page. No one is suggesting that the material in the deleted article was not factual. What was missing was references that testified to any notability of this particular company. It is a common misconception that the mere existence of a company is sufficient for it to be the subject of a Wikipedia article. In fact, the company must be notable in some way, and that notability has to be attested to by the verifiable opinions of arm's-length, third-party experts in reliable sources such as books and magazines. I hope this goes some way to clearing up your confusion. You may want to look at some introductory material about Wikipedia such as WP:Your first article and WP:Why was my article deleted? for further guidance. Selling Laptops

I recommend that you first create the article in your user space (for example User:Markfreelance/Cash for Laptops) and then move the article to main space once you are done. But before you do that, please make sure that you include references from reliable, third-party sources establishing the company's notability. Also, please review the Business' FAQ before recreating the article. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:17, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
