Byetteism article

edit

Hi. I understand that the article I created on the mock religion known as Byetteism is on the "wanted" list of things you want to delete. I beg you to reconsider. Byetteism is not fake. It is actually a mock religion that I think could be a good topic on wikipedia. It talks about a mock religion that could be useful if one were to do a report or whatnot on the topic. Nevertheless, I don't know why you would want to delete it because I don't believe I am causing any problems to Wikipedia or hurting any people. I would understand if I was going onto previously made articles and vandalizing them. I am not doing this, because it is against my values. I think what I am doing is further contributing to the information that can be found on Wikipedia.

Thank you for your time.

Every article on Wikipedia needs to provide independent, verifiable sources. Please read Wikipedia:Attribution and Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not for things made up in school one day. "Not hurting any people" is not a valid reason to keep an article. If you can cite some sources, then the article can stay. If not, it goes. Also, vandalizing other user's talk pages is not permitted on Wikipedia either. Andrwsc 03:48, 3 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry that wikipedia believes that articles on factual information that could have a useful significance does not have a place on it's website. I have been an avid user of wikipedia for a long time, and enjoy it because it has information on everything. I understand that the Byetteism article is a bit unusual. Nevertheless, it is real information. I did not decide to do this as a joke for school one day, I just wanted to further the information that can be found on one of my favorite websites.

If you are serious about this article, then I suggest working on it in your own user space (e.g. User:Taylor317/Byetteism. You must find some verifiable, independent sources for the material in that article. Once you have edited the article, then you can ask for a peer review to see if it is appropriate for Wikipedia. Wikipedia disappoints me

edit

I am really disappointed with this website. I thought the point of wikipedia was to have true information on all subjects, free to editing by anyone. I don't know what I did to violate that, but apparently an article that talks about something strange but in existence just can't be on the oh so great wikipedia. I'd like to ask you, how many people do you think are going to read an article on Byetteism? Very few, but there are those who will, and I think its a shame that you're letting them down. As I said before, wikipedia disappoints me, and you should be ashamed. I wish you would allow an article that states factual information that is not hurting anyone onto your website, but apparently wikipedia is now beyond that.

Dude, just let it go. It's not hurting anyone, just let the article on. Sorry you think it's all evil, but I think people would like it. I mean, its factual and kind of entertaining, so just let the thing on.

Factual is a funny definition when the article's external link is Google search, and even worst is the fact that in Google's search engine there are 0 hits on the content of the pages. -Dark Dragon Flame 05:09, 3 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bietism

edit

A tag has been placed on Bietism, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Bietism deserves a place in wikipedia just as all the other articles on this website do. It's a shame you don't want the "free encyclopedia" to be free anymore. I understand, it is not a widely known topic, but I absolutely assure you that it is factual. If you would just allow this article to have it's rightful place on Wikipedia, then that would be a very good contribution to the wealth knowledge Wikipedia could hold.

Bietism, again
