2suit

Happy New Year, fellow collaborative obsessive. Now, you merged the rather strange article into the marginally less strange article of Sex in space, citing the AfD decision to merge. Thanks for that: it's the kind of thankless gruntwork we wikipedians did more back when we argued about the rules less.

So of course there's a problem. The decision to merge was made at the end of September, the merge implemented at the end of December. In the interim the 2suit featured in a History Channel documentary. Not just peripherally: the bloody things were demonstrated in zero gravity. With that and the more transitory - but oft RS - news articles, including NBC, I can't in good conscience support a merge decision based on what an article no longer is. Nor are we supposed to. It's also clear that splitting 2suit would improve Sex in space. Unless you have objections, I'm splitting.

Here's something that I'm experimenting with: your contribs say that you haven't been editing for a couple of days. If you're busy or otherwise delayed from giving a full-sized reply, feel free to answer with the word "jackhammer" if you don't object so that I can get things over with and you won't waste time. --Kizor 11:05, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Buck (surname)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Buck (surname), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Buck. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 17:50, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Rotation in living systems

I posted a GA review on 11 December 200. Although you are still editing the article, I see no response at Talk:Rotation in living systems/GA1. I don't like failing articles, especially on time-out, but I fear I will have to unless there is a reponse. --Philcha (talk) 12:43, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Your vote on Jes Rickleff

Thanks for your vote on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jes Rickleff. I thought you might also be interested in voting on this one, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Destiney Sue Moore. Thanks! Plastikspork (talk) 17:52, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

And one more, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jessica Kinni, perhaps less notable than Destiney, but more than Jes? Thanks for your input! Plastikspork (talk) 19:07, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for the Barnstar. Much appreciated. Rillian (talk) 19:10, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Record of Dieselmax

Dear Swpb! I can't understand your revert at List of vehicle speed records. Look at the official FIA Record-List. Search for dieselmax and you will see. What's wrong with this source? -- 88.152.193.207 (talk) 14:48, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the correction! --88.152.193.207 (talk) 16:12, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Ref Desk / Science

I reverted your post of a few minutes ago because it wiped out a substantial number of contributions. I suspect you accidentally edited an old revision. Anyway, since there was already quite a bit of discussion on the topic you responded to, I've not re-added your comment in case you'd like to update it based on what's already present. — Lomn 15:43, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Nachos

I have it from several sources, including two Finnish cookbooks that nachos, or a variation of nachos originated in Finland. 77.96.159.188 (talk) 19:33, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Links

Hi Swpb. I changed a couple of links at University of Delaware Botanic Gardens, avoiding the pipe in the name will probably be more stable. Some of the species may have articles too, or will do, so the full name could be linked: eg. [1] I can think of a number of ways the list is useful to readers, good on you for taking the trouble. cygnis insignis 06:32, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Minor edits

The type of edits you have been making at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages) should not be marked as minor. These are substantial changes to a Wikipedia guideline that have been edited further by others. They don't in any way qualify. See Help:Minor edit. UncleDouggie (talk) 00:20, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Here are two that I noticed. UncleDouggie (talk) 05:06, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Be civil

"Consensus was reached. JHunter disagrees. JHunter needs to get over it." [2] is both false and uncalled-for.

  • You proposed new text on 20:15, 27 September 2009 [3]
  • You changed the proposed wording at 13:37, 16 October 2009 [4]
  • You implemented the new, undiscussed wording also at 13:37, 16 October 2009 [5]
  • Another editor also recognizes that consensus has not been reached [6]

Comment on content, not on the contributor, even in edit summaries. Also, note that my username is JHunterJ, not JHunter (User:Jhunter). If you don't want to use that, consider just "Hunter" instead. -- JHunterJ (talk) 12:20, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace

Hello. Overall I really like the improvements you made to the Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace page. However, would you mind if we re-added this part?

Speaking as an admin who processes block requests at WP:AIV, it seems like every week I need to point enthusiastic but overzealous new-page patrollers to this text because he or she has continued to issue escalated warnings for vandalism instances ... even long after the vandal in question stopped editing.

As an example, the removed section was meant to prevent situations like this from happening: Frahod (talk · contribs) was issued a level three warning at 21:19, a level four warning at 21:20, and then reported the editor to AIV at 21:22, however both of these warnings and the AIV report all took place after Frahod stopped editing at 21:12.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks, — Kralizec! (talk) 14:00, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Since your suggested text was -IMHO- better than was what already on the page, I just added it directly. You may wish to review WP:UTM to make sure it still has the good flow and ease of understanding that you were aiming for in your original copyedit. Thanks again, — Kralizec!
