19th & Wilson is an advertisement

edit

The article 19th & Wilson has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 14:15, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles, as you did to 19th & Wilson. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:56, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Upon further review of the deleted article and your submitted information in your message to me, it seems that 19th & Wilson would not be a suitable article topic. You note this company is "burgeoning," as in, not yet famous. This would characterize 19th and Wilson as failing to meet Wikipedia's notability criteria for inclusion. Furthermore, imdb lists all productions and individuals as submissions from anyone who joins their site, not de facto notable submissions. Therefore, the mere existence of an entry on imdb provides no verifiable, reliable sourcing. They have only produced two movies that have entries on imdb, neither of which are notable. So in addition to the tone of the article being promotional and containing peacock terms ("Maintaining the philosophy that solid storytelling is at the heart of every good film, 19W prides itself on crafting original screenplays..."), the entity itself does not possess enough notability to sustain itself as a separate entry here.
Please feel free to contact me with any further questions. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 15:04, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think Cobaltbluetony has said it all; it's non-notable, clearly promotional, and full of unreferenced claims and statements. Spam. Jimfbleak (talk) 15:28, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
