Bot Help

Hi, I do not know programming but I want to control a bot. What can I do? Can U create a bot for me. A bot that does any work will do for me. Thanks and regards --VarunFEB2003 (talk) 09:13, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

Hey VarunFEB2003! If you want to run a bot, you'll need to have some sort of idea of a problem you want to solve. If you don't have any programming experience, I suggest taking a look at Python as a language to learn as it's probably one of the easiest to learn straight away. There's a wikibook about it, plus other resources online, and a python bot framework that handles most of the interactivity with Wikipedia for you. Realistically, a lot of tasks which can be automated already are, or are prevented by the bot policy, which is something you'll need to read if you're wanting to run a bot. I do suggest you get a bit more experience editing though before you start looking at this area. [stwalkerster|talk] 12:53, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
