Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to J. D. Martin, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. August 2012

edit

Hello, I'm Zepppep. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made to List of Major League Baseball players with 2,000 hits, because it didn't appear constructive. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please refrain from making stat updates to players engaged in a live game, and updating stats to only some players who are part of a greater list, as updating prematurely and before a stat date can be updated leads to incorrect info. being disseminated to the reader. Stats for this article and others should be updated upon the completion of all games for players involved that particular day. See WP:NEWSPAPER for more information. Also you appear to be making a great deal of small edits to an article within a short period of time. I would encourage you to utilize your sandbox and/or the preview function to reduce undue strain on the servers. Zepppep (talk) 01:08, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Additionally, do not change a player's status from active solely because they may not have a current contract with a team. Players may at times be without a contract for weeks or months but they are still considered active. Zepppep (talk) 01:20, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Your recent edits to List of Major League Baseball players with 2,000 hits have been reverted. After your selective updates, you have incorrectly placed some players on the list, thus making the list incorrect. Statistics should be culled from reliable sources. Rather than updating statistics in-game or player-by-player, I recommend taking advantage of your sandbox as to avoid undue strain to Wikipedia's servers. Additionally, when you selectively edit, you create a situation where the article is factually incorrect and therefore of little help to readers. Zepppep (talk) 09:20, 15 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at List of Major League Baseball players with 2,000 hits. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. This was your second attempt of the same edit within 2 days, which was previously reverted on 14 August Zepppep (talk) 04:44, 16 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Rather than reverting edits which have been reverted twice within 2 days, thus potentially creating an edit war situation, take the matter to the article's talk page. I have already started a thread. Zepppep (talk) 07:17, 16 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of Major League Baseball players with 2,000 hits. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. You have refused multiple invitations to discuss your continuous reverts on the article talk page. Please stop your disruptive editing if you are not going to discuss your reasons for overturning current consensus.Bagumba (talk) 06:23, 20 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing, as you did at List of Major League Baseball players with 2,000 hits. Your edits have been reverted or removed.

Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in you being blocked from editing. Zepppep (talk) 02:52, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at List of Major League Baseball players with 2,000 hits, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You are currently dispalying edit warring behavior. As detailed to you in earlier warnings to your talk page, and as pointed out in the article's edit notice, you are not to make selective edits. If you have questions you shall go to the article's talk page, also as directed in the edit notice. Zepppep (talk) 03:34, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at List of Major League Baseball players with 2,000 hits, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You are currently displaying edit warring behavior, which is not taken lightly around here. You have been warned multiple times but persist. Zepppep (talk) 01:18, 21 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

You are not to revert the article. Listing your reasons in an edit summary do not suffice. If you read the edit notice, you will see why your edits will be reverted. As pointed out to you multiple times, you are to take any issues or questions with the edit notice to the article's talk page. The edit notice was implemented to this article precisely to avoid what you are doing. Zepppep (talk) 01:55, 21 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for repeated disruptive editing, refusal to discuss edits, not adhering to editnotices and heeding warnings. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. – Connormah (talk) 03:57, 21 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
I highly suggest that after this block that you do not resume your disruptive editing that got you this block - if you continue, I, or another admin will likely block you until you are ready to engage in a more constructive editing style. – Connormah (talk) 04:14, 21 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
