June 2011 edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Sarah Palin. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. StAnselm (talk) 00:54, 6 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

November 2011, 3RR edit

I see you've been previously warned abut 3RR, so I don't need to repeat the template-- you are edit warring at Donner Party and can be blocked if you continue. Please see WP:OWN#Featured articles, and gain consensus on talk for proposed changes. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 01:03, 29 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am not in an edit war. I made a modification and found that only one part posted the first time so I made the second edited post to reflect that change. Please look at the references I posted.

The change was from:

Some of the emigrants resorted to cannibalism to survive, eating those who had succumbed to starvation and sickness.

to :

Many have repeated the now understood to be false [1][2] story that some of the emigrants resorted to cannibalism to survive, eating those who had succumbed to starvation and sickness.

and the second part was an addition at the very bottom of the section on cannibalism:

All of these accounts aside, archaeological evidence recently evaluated and published July 2010 in American Antiquity [195] has shown no support for the premise that the members of the Donner Party resorted to consuming human remains. [196]

The parts I modified are intended to reflect the current academic view that members of the Donner Party did not eat each other.

Please let me know what I did wrong that makes this an edit war. And apologies if this did not post correctly. I am not an expert at this. Steelhoof

As I consider your edifying comments, I find I am offended that you would find it necessary to attack me. You need to get off that high horse and realize that there are a lot of just normal people that are not as perfect as you are.

Please consider your tone and retain civility by discourse and not tossing out threats... some of us are not as knowledgeable as you.

I appreciate education and correction, but I don't appreciate threats that treat me like a low-life.

I'm sorry if you perceived threats and attacks where there were none: that violating 3RR results in a block is only a statement of Wikipedia practice, not a threat (and certainly not by me, since I'm not an admin and can't block you anyway). The talk page where you can discuss and gain consensus for your proposed change is at Talk:Donner Party. Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 05:08, 29 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
