Cheers DVD Releases edit

Hey, what's with the speedy deletion tag on my article?? Where's your explanation for slapping this tag on the article?? I am deleting it and would like an explanation as to the reason you think this article should be deleted. HeMan5 21:42, 13 March 2007 (UTC) 22:42, 13, March 2007 (UTC).Reply

The main article on Cheers has gotten Way Too Big, that is the reason for splitting this information off into a new article. If you like, I can insert it into the already huge article so people just keep scrolling down forever to read the entire article, that is not a problem.

Also regarding the images, according to this Wikipedia licensing tag

This image is of a DVD cover, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the DVD or the studio which produced the DVD in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of DVD covers

qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Fair use for more information.

To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.

RE: Dog Day Afternoon edit

Greetings. I notice you deleted my paragraph due to no cite for a FA. I'm still new here and can't work out yet how to do this so I will give the cite here and let you edit as you see fit. http://www.ejumpcut.org/archive/onlinessays/JC15folder/RealDogDay.html I feel the paragraph should be included as it adds context and detail that is of interest.

BTW. I was going to edit the paragraph as I accidentally wrote the characters name instead of the actors name (Chris Sarandon) which is how I saw the deletion so soon so that needs correcting. Cheers Wayne 02:46, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

assessment script edit

Hi Staxringold - glad to see you using this script. Do you need help with the user parameters? For example, you can set a default project. I noticed you pasted the examples verbatim from the script talk page, which would cause some problems. :) –Outriggr § 00:01, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Enter the following into monobook.js:
assessmentMyProjects = ["WPBiography"];

You can't default the actual rating, because that's the item you click to make it all happen. The ratings do have accesskeys (keyboard shortcuts) - ALT-1 or ALT-SHIFT-1 for Stub, ALT-2 ... for Start, etc. –Outriggr § 00:07, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Roads named after Wes Clark edit

Hi. I put more stuff in the Wes Clark article about the roads. I've spent more of my time doing recategorizations of articles than citations, so feel free to fix the formatting of the citations or polish the prose if you can. There's more on that in the article talk as well.Amulet of Yendor 20:11, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Stax. I reverted your edits, because based on your edit summary here the road stuff was removed due to lack of citations, not b/c of notability. You state, and I quote "merge only sentence on roads I can find a source on" meaning you couldn't find sources for roads other than the Kosovo one. In the article talk I found some references on the other roads. Thus I restored it with citations and request your help in formatting the citations. Thank you and thanks for the good job maintaining the article.Amulet of Yendor 22:02, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Do you know of any way to get the titles to appear for Samuel Hoare and Wes Clark on the Knights Grand Cross page like the way they do for Prince Charles and Earl Cambridge on that page? [1] I'm not familiar enough to know how to do it. Or are those titles not suppose to appear on that page? They do for Prince Charles and Earl Cambridge, but not for Viscount Hoare or Supreme Allied Commander Clark.Amulet of Yendor 23:05, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:Cheers_sign.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Cheers_sign.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. AfD nomination of Junior's Dream Bike edit

Junior's Dream Bike, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Junior's Dream Bike satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Junior's Dream Bike and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Junior's Dream Bike during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. GreenJoe 19:59, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have added references to Mikey's Blues Bike, see if you agree with what I did. We can do the same to the other articles. --rogerd 13:17, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
If these articles survive the AFD (which at this point I think it will), we should reference all of the other articles and perhaps add some language to make it clear that the articles represent an episode of a TV show. I wouldn't bother until the AFD is concluded, since in the unlikely event they don't survive, it would be wasted effort. --rogerd 18:38, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:AmericanChopper DavidMannBike2.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:AmericanChopper DavidMannBike2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:17, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:AmericanChopper_DixieBike1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:AmericanChopper_DixieBike1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 09:16, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:AmericanChopper DavidMannBike1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:AmericanChopper DavidMannBike1.jpg.

Thank you. After Midnight 0001 17:40, 22 July 2007 (UTC)AReply
