Smithsonian Institution Archives Edit-a-Thon and Meetup! edit

Who should come? You should. Really.
She Blinded Me with Science: Smithsonian Women in Science Edit-a-Thon will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Smithsonian Archives in Washington, D.C. This edit-a-thon will focus on improving and writing Wikipedia content about women from the Smithsonian who contributed to the sciences. It will be followed by a happy hour meetup! We look forward to seeing you there!

...and if you do not live in the Washington, D.C. area, please forgive the intrusion and you can delete this invite! Sarah (talk) 04:47, 8 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thoughts on your sandbox work edit

Hi there, I've looked over your article and have a few suggestions!

  • Both you and Akdash09 are working on the same article. You will probably want to look at each other's work and see how you can integrate what you've both done into the same article. For example, you have a section on "origin," while Akdash09 has a section on "background." You will want to collaborate to mesh these together in the live article.
  • Does the Student Right-to-Know Act have another name? If so, and there is a Wikipedia article on it (there is no article on Student Right-to-Know Act), you should link to it and any other terms in the article that you think might benefit from further explanation.
  • I might retile Potential Misuses of the System to Potential Misinterpretations, since it's not necessarily misuse, just misunderstanding that you're talking about.
  • You will want to do a bit of copyediting before you put this on the live site; I can help after you take a first stab at it if you want a second reviewer.
  • Clarify the sentence that precedes citation 7; does APR really attempt to prevent debate? Also, last sentence is a bit too close to opinion-- try a restatement.
  • Also, to fix your citation issue, you just need to delete the first Reflist you have in your article; you'll find it in your code above your Wikipedia draft text.

Hope that helps! Sleuthwood (talk) 17:11, 16 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
