Hi, I've removed your recent edits to Spice Williams-Crosby because the content appears to have been largely copied from here [1], which is not considered a reliable source anyway, was promotional (unencyclopedic) in tone, and reflects the likelihood that you have a conflict of interest, per WP:COI. Please understand that subjects of Wikipedia articles can't exercise ownership over them. What they can do is remove erroneous content, especially if it's defamatory. All content must be reliably sourced, as directed at WP:RELIABLE, otherwise it's deleted. Thanks and best of luck, 76.248.149.47 (talk) 01:30, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Bing Crosby may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Spicewc. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Bing Crosby, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 02:39, 30 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

The infobox is reserved for major topic points. Everything else should be discussed in the article body, as long as it's relevant. Bing Crosby's grandson, your husband, is not an important part of Bing Crosby's biography, so don't put his name in the infobox. Furthermore, the infobox is for navigating to relevant topics, and since there is no Wikipedia biography of your husband, there is also no link for navigation, and no reason for the reader to click on his name. You can read for yourself the guideline at Template:Infobox_person where it says that relatives must be "independently notable or particularly relevant" in order to be listed.
Another problem with your editing is that you have been doing a bunch of editing of the same few articles while logged out, which is a violation of WP:MULTIPLE. You have been using the IP range 2605:E000:6281:6F00:0:0:0:0/64 and edit warring against other editors at the same article.[2][3] This style of editing can very quickly escalate to a long-term block. Please use your registered user account for all edits. Binksternet (talk) 02:54, 30 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

edit

Hello, Spicewc. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
