August 2012 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I have noticed that some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Lollipop (Lil Wayne song), have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you to seek consensus for certain edits. Thank you.  -- WikHead (talk) 12:29, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

September 2012 edit

Please refrain from changing genres, as you did to Lollipop (Lil Wayne song), without providing a source and without establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. Thank you.  -- WikHead (talk) 21:06, 1 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your username edit

Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, and I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

I don't mean to be rude, but I noticed that your username, "Spacemann Spiff", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it is extremely similar to that of another established editor at Wikipedia, User:SpacemanSpiff. Although it's by no means a blatant violation of our rules, you may still want to read this policy subsection detailing what to do in situations such as this one. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, this probably comes as sort of an unpleasant surprise for you (as I'm sure it would for me). The reason I'm posting here though is because you do seem to be a pretty regular contributor, and it's very possible that people might confuse you with the aforementioned user who has been around for quite a long time and is well known to the general Wikipedia community. You might want to consider registering a new account under a different name so as to avoid any such mix-ups, or if you'd prefer to retain this account, you might want to copy/paste this template — {{Distinguish|other user}} — to the top of your userpage or talk page (excluding the dashes), replacing "other user" with the account name used by the editor that is similar to yours (in this case, "SpacemanSpiff"). You may also want to add an internal link to their userpage; if you need any help doing so, feel free to ping me on my talk page, or if you can figure it out for yourself, check around for the solution on our page about creating links.

Take care, and welcome to Wikipedia! =) Kurtis (talk) 02:15, 10 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
