Speedy deletion nomination of St. Chika

edit

Hello Sonoafricano,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged St. Chika for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Thanks for trying to keep Wikipedia fair and neutral. However, your speedy deletion nomination has been declined by Wikipedian administrator Northamerica1000 for the following reason: "A musician having a "hit single" is a credible claim of significance". Do check the Revision history of St. Chika.--Sonoafricano (talk) 17:30, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to St. Chika, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. The article needs a clear and simple reliable source that states that the song is of a specific genre. I don't know what that looks like for a Nigerian gospel music performer, but take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christian music/Sources. They may not list St. Chika, but you'll get an idea of what reliable sources are and how they approach genres. Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:27, 24 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

The source for 'Jesus Only You' says: "The Gospel Sensation is back again with a powerful worship song titled “Jesus Only You”" The source for 'Bigger than what people say' says: "Powerful worship song from the gospel sensation St. Chika." The source for 'You are God' says: "...the Gospel Singer is out with another single and worship song titled “You Are God”". The source for 'You are great' says: "The Gospel Singer who has consistently released hits throughout the past few months is back with yet another another gospel song, this time a rap song telling us how great God is." The source for 'Praise Him' says "Evergreen gospel minister, St.Chika is back with a pretty cool contemporary gospel song which is titled “Praise Him“."
All sources specified the genres of the songs. I will advice that you carefully look at the sources before reverting edits. Thank you----Sonoafricano (talk) 03:32, 24 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have taken a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christian music/Sources. I get the idea and this is exactly what I have done earlier. A column titled "Genre(s)" can be seen in the tables, which I had done earlier and you removed. I have made available reliable sources that talks about the genre. I don't know how they do it from where you are from, but in Nigeria genres of sources are typical discussed in the body of the source article. --Sonoafricano (talk) 03:53, 24 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
