Please do not add copy-and-pasted promotional material to articles, such as Solar Impulse, because:

  1. The contents are likely protected by copyright and to use them on Wikipedia without author's permission would violate copyright laws and Wikipedia policies; and
  2. Wikipedia is not an advertising board.

Thank you. - Mike Rosoft 10:00, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is not a promotional material. I don't understand why you reversed this article. - SolarImpulse

  • If it wasn't promotional, it certainly looked like one with claims like "The SolarImpulse is a revolutionary concept that is going to push the limits of our knowledge in materials, energy management and the human-machine interface". See the Wikipedia's policy of neutrality. Also, please note that the image you have uploaded for the article, Image:SI Cockpit 20050705.jpg, will likely be deleted unless it is relicensed; images which are uploaded with a permission only for Wikipedia, or where the license doesn't permit third-party commercial use or modification, are not permitted. See Wikipedia:Image use policy for more details. - Mike Rosoft 10:21, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

OK, I can change this sentence. Otherwise, this article is a scientific one. Concerning the image, it was relicensed (I think). I am not too familiar with changes of images. Could you please tell me how to do it? I re-uploaded it with the correct licence, but I am not sure everything is OK now. Thank you, SolarImpulse

The problem is not just with a single sentence, but with its entire composition. Compare your article with articles about any commercial or similar subjects - such as Microsoft, Symantec etc. And no, you didn't mark the Image:SI Cockpit 20050705.jpg correctly. Just edit the image description page and replace the speedy deletion message with the appropriate image copyright tag (such as {{GFDL-self}}). I presume that you are really the creator of the two images you have uploaded, right? - Mike Rosoft 12:35, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

For your information, I corrected the whole text in order to be neutral and not just one sentence. Why did you simply revert it without reading it? I am doing my best to have something interesting on the subject. SolarImpulse

  • As a matter of fact I did read your text, and you didn't correct it to make it read as anything but an advertisement. And you didn't answer my question: Did you create the images Image:SI Cockpit 20050705.jpg and Image:SI Image 3.jpg, or are you otherwise their copyright holder? In other words, are you in a position to submit them on Wikipedia under the GFDL license? If so, then please correct the copyright tag, as I explained above. Thank you.
