Early Modern Art moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Early Modern Art, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Translations

Hello, Sofia, and welcome to English Wikipedia. :) I see that you've been translating content, which is much welcome, but I do need to make sure you know how to do this properly to avoid copyright problems.

Content on Wikipedia in any language is not public domain. While it is licensed for reuse, there are conditions that must be met in order to avoid copyright violating. Copying from one Wikipedia article to another or translating from one Wikipedia language to another requires proper "attribution." This is true whether you are translating from English to another language or, as I've noticed here, translating from Spanish to English.

Help:Translation talks about how to do this to avoid issues. I have fixed the issue at Harold Raley. Please address other articles you've translated to ensure that the content is properly attributed.

One additional note, with regards to the Harold Raley article, the use of quotations was far in excess of what English Wikipedia permits. The issue was noted at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2022 April 29, which is how I came to discover the translation problem. I know that this material is in the Spanish article, but we cannot use it so extensively here. I have removed it. If you want to include any more material, please use the guidelines at WP:Quotations and Wikipedia:Non-free_content#Text. Sorry for the complexity. I know how challenging it can be to switch between language projects. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:46, 28 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Early modern art

edit

Hello, Sofia Spinelli. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Early modern art".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. plicit 13:57, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
