Hi Dr. Greg. I made a constructive addition to the 'Dalkey' page a short while ago, I was just giving the 'EDL' page some vandalism for obvious reasons. I hope this is okay as I'd like to continue doing it. It's a matter of principle; they're oppressive people who dedicate their lives to making people miserable. If you still feel that the EDL page shouldn't be vandalised then I can understand, but I'd appreciate the freedom to vandalise.
Thanks,
Stephen

If you want to be accepted as a valued contributor to this encyclopaedia, as I hope you do, then you shouldn't be vandalising anything, whatever the reason. Vandalised pages lack credibility; people won't believe what is on the page. The EDL article hardly paints the organisation in a good light, and there are also others who vandalise the page by trying to remove phrases like "far right". Vandalism (of any Wikipedia article) tends to get detected quite quickly by other editors, and users who persist in vandalising will rapidly find themselves blocked from editing. I hope you do not choose that path. (P.S. on talk pages please sign your comments by adding --~~~~ to the end of your message.) -- Dr Greg  talk  00:26, 31 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Dr. Greg,
Yes, I understand how knowledge, vandalism and credibility work. I'm a Cultural Studies graduate. I'm requesting that the "cleaning up" of the page be left to members of the EDL. I'm attempting to begin Situationist methods of protest.
Not sure how to do that sign-off thing, sorry.
Thanks,
Stephen

That's not how Wikipedia works. We don't want EDL writing an article about themselves, that would be biased and lacking credibility. (To sign messages, just hit the icon that looks like a pen at the top of the edit window.) -- Dr Greg  talk  19:17, 31 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Dr. Greg. Okay, I can respect that. Maybe it was presumptuous of me to sign onto wikipedia with that sole purpose. I'll steer clear of the vandalism.--SituationistJoyce (talk) 21:02, 2 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
