Non-notable musical group lacking GHits and GNEWS of substance.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Speedy deletion nomination of The Laiho Trio edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Laiho Trio requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. reddogsix (talk) 14:58, 30 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

The Laiho Trio edit

Hi Sireti-3. I noticed two references in The Laiho Trio that appear to establish notability:

  • The magazine International Musician: "THE LAIHO TRIO - THE FIRST THREE ACCORDION SYMPHONISTS" (Headline) Article November 1990 New York
  • Sherman Robert, The New York Times: "Magnificent, brilliant, what a rarest pleasure" article July 1977

I cannot find these sources online through the news databases I subscribe to. Would you be able to scan these articles and upload them to Flickr or another photo-sharing site? They would be very helpful in determining notability. Goodvac (talk) 22:39, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your effort Goodvac.

  • First) The International Musician... -> I found details October 1990, p.8, New York. I'll try to get that scanned.
  • Second) Sherman Robert, The New York Times...Don't actually exist in references at the moment since I'm also trying to get more details from it. --88.195.28.27 (talk) 07:09, 2 November 2011 (UTC)--Sireti-3 (talk) 07:12, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! The Sherman Robert article I saw in an earlier revision.
Anything article you can find that discusses the Trio in-depth will be very helpful. Goodvac (talk) 15:35, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

You'll find International Musician article in my server -> http://www.tsirenky.com/IntMusicianLaiho --Sireti-3 (talk) 18:00, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

That's an excellent source. If you can find one more, I think I can comfortably assert that this Trio is notable. The following (already in the article) will be good too:
  • The Musical Heritage Review: "The Laiho Trio Performs" (Headline) Article December 18. 1978 vol.2 No.16 p.22.
You also said you found "nearly 20" articles, so I think if you can link those, this article will be definitely kept. Thanks, Goodvac (talk) 18:20, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

You'll find Musical Heritage review article in my server -> http://www.tsirenky.com/MusHerLaiho + photograph from http://www.erieevents.com/about/warner_theatre.htm advertising Laiho Brothers concert. --Sireti-3 (talk) 19:21, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • There should be also a second page(p.23) in the article. Unfortunately the material was provided without that.--Sireti-3 (talk) 19:27, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

You'll find Oregonian article in my server -> http://www.tsirenky.com/OregoniaLaiho --Sireti-3 (talk) 20:13, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I have voted to keep this article because these sources have convinced me of the Trio's notability, so you can continue working on and expanding the article if you like. Goodvac (talk) 22:24, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Goodvac. I was just transferring one more scanned page of Musical America -> http://www.tsirenky.com/MusAmerLaiho --Sireti-3 (talk) 22:38, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading the scans. However, the Musical Heritage Review article and the Musical America cannot be used to establish notability because they are advertisements, but the quotes from The New York Times and CBS show that the Trio has received significant notice, so the articles are useful in that respect.
