Writing a draft article on Wikipedia

Hello, Simon Edward Smith, and welcome to Wikipedia! Further advice

I should explain that Wikipedia pages don't go into categories at all until they become articles, and then they should be allocated to a few existing categories. Please don't try to create new categories. Categorisation is a complex system and best left to experienced editors.

I would add that contributors are discouraged from attempting to create articles about themselves. Many of these attempts prove not to satisfy our requirements, including the notability criteria for articles about people: Noyster (talk), 16:47, 12 March 2018 (UTC)

I've blocked this account. Wikipedia does not exist to act as a webhost for a small promotional 'press release' about you. User pages are generally reserved for editors who actually contribute content, so other contributors of content can find out useful information and more easily collaborate with each other. If you do wish to contribute to Wikipedia, rather than just advertise yourself, please reply with details of what it is you intend to do. Nick (talk) 17:09, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
