Notability of Gary Hardiman

edit

A tag has been placed on Gary Hardiman, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. pablomismo|\talk 20:20, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sigroc

A tag has been placed on Sigroc, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on Talk:Sigroc. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thanks. Janarius 14:58, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Sigroc.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Sigroc.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:10, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:BonfireGIF.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 17:15, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Deus Ex Machina (Machinima)

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Deus Ex Machina (Machinima), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Deus Ex Machina (Machinima). AfD nomination of Deus Ex Machina (Machinima)

I have nominated Deus Ex Machina (Machinima), an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Deus Ex Machina (Machinima). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Image source problem with Image:Christopherarmstrong.JPG

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Christopherarmstrong.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:05, 28 February 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. RT | Talk 19:05, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: Don't Delete Deus Ex Machina (Machinima) Article

edit

It is not my call to make. It's up to the administrator who closes the AfD to decide what to do with it, and you are encouraged to discuss why it should not be deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Deus Ex Machina (Machinima). If you can show that it's notable I might withdraw my comment on it, but so far you haven't explained its notability at all. Also, Wikipedia articles must cite to reliable, independent sources which verify their content. Independent sources also greatly help to establish notability. So far the article has no sources whatsoever, and is blatant original research written by users with a conflict of interest. Those links should help to explain why people have called for it to be deleted. If you can address the concerns by improving the sourcing on the article it may be okay; otherwise there isn't, I'm afraid, a chance of it surviving the AfD nomination. Hope this helps. • Anakin (talk) 16:40, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
