Hello, Thousandmilemedia, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

You may also want to complete the Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. You can visit the Teahouse to ask questions or seek help.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Again, welcome! Your user name

edit

Are you in any way connected with the company Thousand Mile Media? DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 17:13, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have worked for them in the past, yes.
Then I am going to ask you please to change your user name at Wikipedia:Changing username. According to the WP:ORGNAME section of our Username policy he following types of usernames are not permitted because they are considered promotional: Usernames that unambiguously represent the name of a company, group, institution or product (e.g. TownvilleWidgets, MyWidgetsUSA.com, TrammelMuseumofArt). Such a name also implies shared use, whethr it is actually shared or not. Editors may be blocked from editing when using such a name. I have blocked quite a few in the past. In this case, you do not seem to have edited any articles connected with the company, so i prefer to ask you politely to make the change. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:20, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
I will do that, thank you. I was able to change my signature in the preferences section, but my username has not changed. Do you have a direct link to where I can change the username? I can't seem to find that on the page you provided.
Scratch that, I found the link at the bottom. Thank you.
(edit conflict) The directions are at Wikipedia:Changing username. Actual changing can be done at Special:GlobalRenameRequest (requires a confirmed email), or at Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:37, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
In future please sign posts on talk pages (user or article) and discussion pages (such as the Teahouse) with four tildes (~~~~). The wiki software will convert this to a link to your user page, or your custom sig if you have set one up, plus a timestamp. Thank you. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:37, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
