Chowpatti and leaving wikipedia

edit

Wow I bet Chowpatti is a special spot in Mumbai, it looks actually quite tranquil compared with the usual extreme bustle you associate with Mumbai. Ever been there? Only ten days till you leave wikipedia now right? Blofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 18:12, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wow what a figure. Check out Sherry Britton. An 18 inch waist!! Count Blofeld 11:52, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes of course. I've seen many pictures of her, she looks even nicer in most other pictures. She is linked on your user page isn't she? Count Blofeld 11:59, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I personally prefer Bipasha and Zinta but yes she looks sweet. This may sound a bit odd but she reminds me of an Indian Holly Valance! Count Blofeld 12:00, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

She looks smoking hot here. Yes she is a bit like Valance Count Blofeld 12:03, 8 November 2008 (UTC) Yes I've read your user page once or twice. The funny thing is that by reading it you'd think you;d be one of these Bollywood fanatics who put all sorts of POV into the articles but ironically you are the total opposite! Keeping "business" and "pleasure" seperate. Why can't the others be more like you and reserve fan material for their user pages rather than embedding them in article. You;d think they would have learned by now that it will only be reverted! Count Blofeld 12:09, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Its true though. To be honest, when I first came across you with the film lists I thought you were one of them and the "fans" who add their POV to the articles. I couldn't have been more wrong, but I found out with a day or two anyway that you weren't like them. To be a top fan but to contain this and keep articles up to a professional standard is admirable. Best. Count Blofeld 12:33, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Now now Shahid. Why are we looking at porn stars? LOL. Jenna I've been with 2 million men and 1 million women and 500 animals Jameson. By far the filthiest British woman is Abi Titmuss. She isn't even a full on porn star. But she REALLY IS DIRTY!! Forget Poppy Morgan or any of those, Abi is a sex-crazed freak! LOL. The trashiest British woman though has to be Jodie Marsh. Count Blofeld 13:48, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Have you ever heard of Veronica Carlson? One of the lesser known 60s beauties. Check here Count Blofeld 14:39, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

LOL. Bush the ass. Yes she has a softness about her, who know the sort of woman you can look at and fall instantly in love with! Count Blofeld 16:12, 9 November 2008 (UTC) Yes I agree, exactly my type. C'mon Shahid I've seen those images tons of times and probably at least 50 images of her!! I tried to get some images of her form Bollywood blog remember. She has blue eyes too by the looks of it which you know I always love black hair and blue eyes. I completely agree with you, Count Blofeld 17:04, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wow that curry looks hot! I can see she has brown eyes in her wiki page but some images like this they look blue or green. Count Blofeld 17:29, 9 November 2008 (UTC) Have a look at my new template Template:Guerrero. A lot of red links? Count Blofeld 18:06, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cool. Hey have a listen to the accent of this guy Joe Calzaghe. Everytime I hear him its almost as if I know him his voice is so familiar! This is exactly how most guys speak in south Wales where I am from. You could easily detect my welsh accent but I sound more english than most people around here. Can you tell a welsh accent from an english accent, or a Liverpool or Newcastle upon Tyne accent from Cockney (London)?

Newcastle accent (Cheryl Cole), Liverpool (Scouser) accent (Abigail Clancy) Cockney (Eastenders)

Hey friend, sorry for the very very very late response. I have been really busy with University. Over these past couple of monts, I have missed talking to you and Blofeld!! How's it going?? I am temporarily back though I won't be on as regular as I used to. Look forward to hearing from you again!! :)) Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 02:24, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm doing fine though over the past two months or so, I have been very tired. Furthermore due to University, life has been very stressful!!! I hate it so much!!!! I haven't had the chance to watch that many new films though since I am off for a while, I decided to catch up on the new/recent Bollywood movies. Hmmmm... over the past two-three days, I have watched Heroes, Kidnap, Golmaal Returns, & Fashion!!! What about you?? Have you seen these movies?? -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 03:33, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I heard that Preity won the "Best Actress" award at the Chicago International Film Festival!!! From what I have heard, she is the second Indian actress [after Shabana Azmi] to do so. Quite an accomplishment there!! Regarding her performance in Heroes, I wasn't that surprised by her dedication to her role. Over the years, she has proved herself over and over again. However, what really surprised me was [Priyanka] Chopra's performance in Fashion. Mandhur Bhandarkar always brings out excellent performances by his actresses. What did you think of her performance?? -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 16:37, 11 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Wow Shahid, you completely sound like a critic!! You can completely give Taran Adarsh a run for his money. LOL :)) I am damn serious!! I completely agree with everything you said!! Bollywood focuses too much on commercial success rather than actually delivering good performances. Take for instance Katrina Kaif: After delivering six back-to-back hits, trade pundits, the media and the audiences have labelled her as the supposed numero uno position. Another example is Rani Mukerji... from 2004-05, she delivered good performances and it looked like she would continue to reign for many years to come. However, after a so-so 2006 and a bad 2007-08.. look where she is now!!!
Majority of the people [like you and I] tend to agree that Kangana Ranaut delivered a better performance than Priyanka Chopra did in Fashion. Although the latter had the lead role, the former completely stole the show away from her. However, this is an improvement in Chopra's performance compared to all the crappy performances she has been delivering film after film. BTW, have you watched Woh Lamhe with Kangana and Shiney.. now that is a really good performance!!!
As for Kapoor's perormance in Golmaal Returns, I found it quite okay!!! It wasn't like an award-performance role but something she purely did for entertainment purposes and to have fun!!! From 2002-03, since all her films that were "potential" commercial successes failed to do well at the box office, she tried to reinvent herself by mostly doing "art" type of films. Now that Jab We Met has played a big turning point in her career, she has gone on to strike a balance between commercial and art cinema.
BTW thanks for outlining your points on Kapoor's article regarding Roadside Romeo. Take a look at it when you have the time!! Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 01:39, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I completely agree with you. Nowadays Yash Raj Films just want to use their actresses as props in the films. They are just put in the film to look good. In the beginning, they didn't do it as much: (Rimi/Esha in Dhoom (2004), Tanisha in Neal n Nikki (2005), Aish/Bips in Dhoom 2 (2006)) From 2006 onwards, the banner really screwed up: (Rani in TPTM (2007), Preity/Lara in JBJ (2007), Konkona in Aaja Nachle (2007), Kareena in Tashan (2008) & Minissha/Bips/Deepika in BAH (2008)). If YRF don't get their act together, their reputation of a reputable banner will really go down.
BTW, I was wondering if you felt the Tashan paragraph was fine the way it was or something else should be incorporated or added into it. I previously removed the part of her role description & the critic's quote, which, in my opinion, were completely unnecessary. Let me know what you think. -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 17:33, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Out of all the reviews that were posted on Zinta's talk page, I think you should add the Hindustan Times quote. I think the quote beautifully comments her performance and this is indeed.. "her coming of age as an actress." As for Heaven on Earth, I don't know if the film is being played at a cinema close to my house. Since the film has a "limited" release, I don't know if the film will be playing at the "popular" cinemas across Canada. Since I am off for about a week or two, I will try finding out where the movie is playing.
I have included an analysis of the reviews Bebo received for her performance in GR. I plan to keep everything the same though I will just be replacing the critic's quote with the Indian Express one. What do you think?? -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 18:46, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well.. what can I say.. "Great minds, think alike!!" LOL :)) As for now, if I add the HT quote to the article, it will sound something like this: "...The film received a lukewarm reception from critics and Kapoor's character/performance received mixed reviews. The Indian Express concluded, "There is nothing particularly new about a suspicious wife keeping tabs on her husband, and there is nothing particularly new in the way Kareena plays it: because it is a Balaji production, she is called Ekta, and all she seems to do is to watch soppy 'saas bahu' serials which come from the stable.""
I am not sure as to whether I should have the word "character" or "performance". I am tilting more towards the former. BTW, out of all the reviews that were posted for Kapoor's performance in GR on the talk page, which one do you think should be added in the article?? Or do you think The Indian Express quote is fine?? Let me know what you think!! -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 01:48, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
First of all, I would like to thank you for your work on Kapoor's article. The newly written version is indeed better though I only have one problem: I think the previous paragraph on Jab We Met sounded better and flowed more easily. The newer version sounds a bit awkward thus I will be restoring that part to its original version. I hope you don't think that I don't appreciate your work. I really do!! :)) I just think that the previous version sounded better. As for your "Kapoor" dilemma: Well to be honest, I don't think it is that big of a deal though I also feel that you are not exaggertaing :)) While developing Kapoor's article before, I also came across this problem but then I found a reasonable explanation for this confusion. Since this article is on "Kareena Kapoor", the actress, the reader knows that we will only be describing and talking about her films, her performances, her accomplishments, her personal life, etc. Thus, I don't think that this is that big of an issue. LOL :)) BTW, are you looking forward to watch Dostana?? The film releases today and it looks like Karan Johar has had yet another winner!! -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 03:28, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Are you upset with what I said?? -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 17:09, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Fine!!! I wan't talk to you anymore Mr. Shahid!!! Goodbye!! :)) -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 17:26, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ignorance

edit

These are the sorts of editors that I would rather we didn't have. Tne ones who do little to improve existing articles but go on patrol and degrade existing articles with tags and removing useful images. See his user page and "origin". Another coincidence? Somehow Stargate is of prime importance yet an ITC production, one of Britains most notable TV producers in the 1960s and 1970s which produced The Avengers and The Saint etc somehow are not. if the series had been produced in the 2000s there would be tons of references to use to support it but what can I do? By placing such tags it maximises the possibility of them being deleted and I've spent a lot of time on it. Count Blofeld 20:19, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Zinta

edit

There's nothing wrong with the article, c'mon it wouldn't have passed otherwise. He is also not a very active editor. I wouldn't take it too seriously but I am intrugued why he thinks such a good article is an "advert". WHatever he says I doubt it is valid. But wikipedia takes featured content very seriously and if the article doesn't appear neutral and an example of our best work to anybody, whoever they are, we need to know why they think this. You needn't feel threatened or concerned about it. If when he returns and cares enough about it to comment, he can be corrected if he is wrong then.

P.S. you should be well aware I have many of the Indian actors and actresses on my watchlist, most often I am beaten to it in reverting. Count Blofeld 22:49, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm very well thanks! Bit cold though Count Blofeld 13:34, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

If I remove my message what is there to gain? He is going to see the message anyway when he logs in and it will look even worse if I try to hide it. Don't be afraid of criticism. As I said I doubt he has any valid points and more than likely doesn't care enough to respond anyway. If he responds, then I will be quick to put him in his place or undeerstand what he is talking about. Its not as if I've asked him to demote the article is it?People have opinions. Opinions are all they are. Most of the time in regards to Indian cinema complaints about articles are because they either dislike another industry because of the racism thing you said about or have a strong dislike for one actor in favor of another. I am still interested as to why he thinks this, it is not so important that I should remove my question because you are concerned about criticism or an upheaval. If he kicks up a fuss about then he will be reverted and put in his place.

If you aren't here, as much as I want you to stay!!, it in no way will affect the intergrity of the article amd there are many people who have it on their watchlists. If he places another tag on it then he will be reverted and even if worst comes to worst and he repsonds saying the article is "fancruft" or something I'll just laugh at him and it will be forgotten. Just remain confident that the article wouldn;t have passed our almost impossible FA system if it had serious POV/neutrality issues. I often provoke people who have made controversial or stupid comments to see their response anyway. MOst of the time they haven't the guts or can't be bothered to respond and feel quite sheepish once I've spoken to them!. Best

Count Blofeld 14:19, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

LOL have you seen my big fat fella/mobility scooter and large egg timer on head images on my talk page! P.S notice the resmeblance between this and this. Hehe! Count Blofeld 14:40, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Moonraker (film) passed GA anyway. Its funny but I didn't even get the chance to fully read what I had written before it passed LOL but it was OK. It is a silly film but as it was a James Bond collaboration I thought I'd chip in Count Blofeld 14:36, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ah thats nice. Don't worry sometimes thoughts are more powerful than barnstars. Yes it wasn't as if I spent days working on it, so I doubt you would have even noticed, I don't think I spent longer than three solid hours with it, the same as Thunderball (film). I would sit down and concentrate on GAs but I feel guilty in doing so when there is so much needs doing elsewhere! Given that the topic was a pretty ludicrous one its not easy trying to make the article serious and encyclopedic! If you could point me to some sources I could see about devleoping KANK further sometime. Its about time some Bollywood films were improved. What I find though is that there is rarely information on production available as there are in detail on Hollywood films Count Blofeld 14:50, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why is the BOI reference dead for KANK? Count Blofeld 15:21, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bollywood4U images can't access them on my computer. Some of the images including the one of Zinta should be removed because it is decor. If I remove them you'll revert it and there is nothing wrong with the light on the NYC image either. Try boosting the light contrast on your PC screen Count Blofeld 17:12, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes I like the Abh/Rani image and it is now balanced. Howveer, there is a reaosn why the NYC is used in production to accompany the location that is being discussed. If I spoke to User:Erik he would probably remove most of the images if not all of them because they don't meet critical commentary criteria. Just thought you should be warned about that because a few editors have been known to strip articles like Casino Royale and Goldeneye of any images. Count Blofeld 17:22, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'll ask User:Erik then. Count Blofeld 17:25, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

"All my hard work writing the commentary in the image page". That isn't a reason for why an image should be kept. Besides this isn't that image used on the Zinta page? My question is as good as the image looks, why do we need four pictures of Preity Zinta in the article. We have an image of her in the poster, in the top image, in the cast image.. why would be need another image to say this is Preity Zinta portraying Rhea..? Count Blofeld 17:32, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not at all Shahid. Do you think I would imply this when I recall only a few days ago clearly stating you are the opposite from them with trying to make articles neutral. The fact here though is that you somehow want four images of Preity Zinta to appear in the article, which I think is unnecessary. Do you not agree that four copyrighted images of Preity Zinta or any actor in any film article is a high amount? . I would have no objections if you were to replace the top image with the one of Zinta but in all honestly we only need one image for encyclopedic purposes in this article, the one which shows them all in the cast section. If you were to edit detailed captions which understand key moments in the film it might help rather than just identifying the cast, but if we were to proceed with the article to a higher level, believe me the images would have to be removed as their rationale for use with "critical commentary" is not valid. Count Blofeld 17:47, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry Shahid but you are revealing to me a strange understanding of copyright law. First of all the removal of a copyrighted image from Zinta's article is not and will not be based upon whether it is used in a different article or not. I have no idea why you think this and if you are basing your misunderstanding of what is necessary for the image to be validly used in the Zinta article from Sarvagnya, may God help you!! Secondly, why did a poor quality image of them in makeup enchance an understanding of production and contribute to an overall understanding of the film? It was merely decor and did nothing whatsoever to improve the article encyclopedically by conveying inforamtion further from the text. At least the NYC image had some claim for being used for critical commentary on the location. You seem to be missing why certain images are generally permitable. Besides this a total of 6 copyrighted in any one article is abusing copyright law however "useful" they may appear. If you don't trust me or my good faith at trying to help the article on this then I am deeply sorry. If I was to bring it up at WP:Films more than likely we'd see further images removed by a number of others. OK you like that image, so do I. It is being used in the Zinta article and I have also tried to improve the rationale for its use there, by spending time and effort in improving the rationale. No copyrighted image is safe on here Shahid, but if you think that by including the image in the KANK article will somehow legitimise its use in the other article this is incorrect. Count Blofeld 18:18, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

However, if you were to write a bit into the reception section about Zinta being noted for her portrayal of modern Indian women, this would make the use of that image more viable in the lower section for critical commentary. However you;d probably say that this would affect its neutrality somehow. I'll leave it up to you to consider. Best Count Blofeld 18:34, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes that would be permittable, the problem is neutrality as you are fully aware. My suggestion would be to have a paragraph analysing acting performances in the film and comments by critics with a balanced approach to all the main actors and then include the image to identify the "modern Indian woman" in the text. Its pretty slim but I'm sure you appreciate that additional images can't really be used legitmately without somehow enchancing understanding of the article and directly being used from text discussion. However, I'm sure there are things to say about Rani's performance or Shadrukhs, or even Abhishek given that he received the most awards so by selecting the image of just Zinta it may affect the neutrality. Count Blofeld 18:53, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK I;ve found a way to include it in the reception but it isn't really essential. Sorry if discussing it upset you but it does still have too many images and I am strongly tmepted to rempve the images in the plot section and replace it with the single image showing them all. I know you said you are busy, but I am certain within one week on here you could find a few minutes to improve the plot section/ensure it is written correctly and find a replacement for the dead BOI link. Count Blofeld 19:47, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

To be honest I agree, I think it looks out of place and a little weird where it is but when limited use of screenshots are required its best to have few images with as many characters in as possible. I still think the image is more suited to the bio article. Sorry to have troubled you. Count Blofeld 20:26, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Watching KANK

edit

I'll watch it now I haven't seen it all the way through. However I've just shaved my beard off literally 15 minutes ago!. According to one critic after seeing the whole film I'll need another shave LOL. I'm sure thats an exaggeration but. Well I'll tell you later Count Blofeld 11:01, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Its great, very entertaining, its very funny in parts. Only thing is there is no chemistry whatsoever between them (on a loving level) and its hard to believe any of them are lovers!!! They are incredibly amusing together though (in the first half). Abhishek and Zinta are like brother and sister and, well everytime beautiful Rani looks at Shahrukh its like shes thinking "This guys nose is huge" LOL. I'm up to part 14/21 where it seems they are about to make another go of their original relationships. The football scenes though were terribly shot, and he has to be the least convincing footballer ever! No porfesisonal footballer is ogin to walk down a street and pretend to be playing football! and the "weeping relationship" scenes were a bit to OTT! LOL. "I like Blue" LOL. I'll continue watching it a little later. But I always get the impression Amitabh has the hots for Zinta bigtime, the way he looks at her. I've seen examples of it in other films on youtube too! Count Blofeld 13:19, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Finished. I liked the first half for the comedic elements. The second half was WAY!! too long. The times Rani started crying did my head in and by the end of the film that piano and background got so repetitive that it started to annoy me!! The piano in particular keeps repeating on me. It went on way too long in the second half trying to me all emotional but all the time is was quite predictable. Personally I'd rather that the emotional stuff was more mixed with the comedy, its like the film was all out comedy then suddenly all out "sadness". Overall I liked it but it seriously needed shortening! I thought Abhishek gave the best performance by far, when he got angry he really looks the business and that he was ready to kill her! Count Blofeld 14:38, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I know. But they still look like brother and sister. The Sexy Sam thing reminds of a few old lotharios we have in the UK like Peter Stringfellow lol. Guys 60 odd and still thinks he is the stud of the year. I've seen a bit of Salaam Namaste already but not all the way through. Remember though I'm not like other "westerners" who expect all films to be in "western locations". Part of the reason I'm interested in world film and James Bond is the exotic locations. In fact some of the time the less "westernized" the locations look often the more interested I am. Count Blofeld 14:48, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Shahid I'm going to replace the images in the plot with one of SRK and Rani in the rain sitting on the bench with people walking by, I think it is more representative of the film as a whole. The first image happened at the end of the film anyway. I don't think the Abhishek/Rani image is needed as it looks like they are blissfully happy together. Count Blofeld 15:02, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh yes I know that Bollywood is like this, we don't the OTT emotional scenes seriously, just play along with it. The films are fun to watch but yes I can also see why you like more realistic art house films as a break. Trust me Filipino cinema is even more melodramatic! Oh I've found this image Image:KANK3.jpg. Would you rather this or the one on the bench? Count Blofeld 15:20, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I;ve included both. I'm happy with the images now as they show the most important relationships in the film. Count Blofeld 15:28, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ahsaas Channa -actress? Count Blofeld 15:37, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm quite impressed that I managed to write a good reception section without seeing the film first. I think it sums it up well! Do you agree? Count Blofeld 15:45, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

OMG was that really a girl!! I found the kid quite irritating LOL. I thought "he" looked kind of an effeminate kid. Kind of like an Indian milky bar kid LOL. I thought the bed scene was hilarious with that geek! Count Blofeld 16:01, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

The chemistry between Zinta and Saif Ali Khan is much better. With them you get the impression they find each other attractive. Count Blofeld 17:24, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

No I started watching Kal Ho Naa Ho. I've seen lots of footage of them together though, both in films and in "making of" documentaries and photographs of them together, you'd think they were an item, I can see why people might have got this impression. Kal Ho Naa Ho -Another annoying little kid in glasses, her brother this time!. Preity in glasses reminds me of the models you see on the Specsavers adverts. Business type women. I am not abig fan of specs, I usually wear sunglasses, even my prescription lenses I wear for driving are aviator shades. However, a small proportion of women can look sexy in them, like Zinta. Count Blofeld 17:48, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Of course I've seen Annie Hall!! Hey you know that Woody Allen is one of the few American actors I've ever seen? I saw him in a bookstore (in NYC) back in about 2000. I didn't recognise him but my dad nudged me and said "Thats Woody Allen over there". He had a cap pulled right down and a duffel coat so didn't look that recognisable but I was shocked how tiny he was. Other than him I've seen Christopher Lloyd filming My Favorite Martian in summer 1997 on Santa Barbara, California pier (that film must have taken ages to shoot!) and Dustin Hoffman according to my mum (I didn't see him) who jogged passed us in Carmel, California that same summer. Count Blofeld 18:08, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ahh I've seen too many films to think of a favourite! Probably not as many films as you;ve seen though! 18:14, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

I agree, I've always liked Al Pacino too, he is a great actor too. Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep I think are amongst the best of Hollywood. My personal favourite though is Clint Eastwood, not because he is the best actor but because he has that kind of presence onscreen which makes him so powerful. He is somehow even better as a director too. Count Blofeld 18:24, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Small world. There are some big names in that film too Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor and Virginia Madsen, who probably haven't heard of British actor Christopher Eccleston. The fact that that director has worked with such actors like this and Denzil Washington tells me a lot. P.S. I can't be bothered to edit today. I'm taking it easy this weekend. Count Blofeld 18:45, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Aaargggh! The piano from KANK is STILL going on in my head. I can't get that melodramatic piano from my brain. How am I going to sleep LOL? Count Blofeld 19:05, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh the piano was nice just a little repetitive. I think its because it sounded like the music they played on a documentary I saw back in the early 90s presented by Anneka Rice (who incidentally was born in a village about 10 miles away from me although speaks with a strong English accent for some reason) about orphanages in Romania. The images were shocking and I tend to assosiciate certain sounds with certain images. So whenever I hear the KANK piano I think of macabre images of deformed kids in cots. It was a horrible sight to see believe me, probably the most moving images I have ever seen in my life. Sarah Ferguson recently visisted Romania with her daughters. This time i didn't watch it Count Blofeld 19:24, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

OMG Its a killer. Wow Count Blofeld 21:05, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

LOL perhaps it may need further citations for verification? (As if there weren't enough already). P.S my latest "conflict". Guess from where?

I know, it is far more than just a coincidence. Basically it can be summarised as having an attitude of "supremacy". Its the same with the way I;ve seen certain people turn their nose up at English wikipedia and that their wikipedia is so much more "professional". I remember when I made the bot proposal a few turned up uninvited to object stating that "English wikipedia is already a joke compared to our wikipedia with the amount of stubs". "We focus on quality, which is something you clearly don't care about". Perhaps we should contact Johar to make a Bollywood film on it featuring Zinta and Saif on holiday in Turkey or something and having fights around the pool for loungers LOL. I think thats a good idea! LOL I can just see Zinta about to sit down in a nice restaurant and then suddenly her chair rudely taken from behind her by a peroxide blond leathery tanned woman leaving her to fall on her backside. She then gets up in anger and throws a shoe at the women. Later it ends up with the woman being thrown into the pool. SOund good? Count Blofeld 10:49, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hehe. Count Blofeld 13:44, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Have a listen to Into the Light (my favourite short and sweet but you have to wait 34 seconds for the guitar to start)and Love Thing. And lots of people think Satriani, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen are just mindless shredders who play with no emotion! Count Blofeld 15:17, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nice words, but it the one who plays the guitar that makes the sound. Very few guitarists can make the guitar "speak". The Bald One is one in a billion. Yes he wrote that track after his father died and it really is heart felt -you can tell. I always thought it was special evne befor I knew it was for his father. It is a positive one, when I hear it I picture the earth from above, its kind of an exhalting feeling. Few musicians have the ability to communicate like this, only the very best, its beautiful. Count Blofeld 18:49, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not that Kournikova is my type, but I was trying to explain to an editor who put an article at AFD that stubs are acceptable on wikipedia but are often not as pretty as full articles. P.S. whats goin on with the Bollywood article my watch list has been going crazy! Count Blofeld 12:40, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes she is undoubtedly under-rated. The best living actresses I consider are Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Diane Keaton, Jodie Foster, Judi Dench, and Helen Mirren. Meryl Streep has and will always be impressive but the actress I have been most impressed with since 2000 is Cate Blanchett. Amazing actress. Her career is still really in its infancy. In 20-30 years time I think she will be considered one of the greatest actresses of all time. Count Blofeld 20:02, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes thats coincidence two from each country! I don't doubt there are wonderful actresses in Latin cinema, and all across the world but in western cinema that I am most familiar with, these are the actresses I consider the best. Meryl and Cate in particular. Count Blofeld 20:14, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've always thought Sally Field is a great actress too, and cute. She reminds me of a receptionist/librarian we used to have when I was in school. Everybody had a crush on her. Tiny woman, barely 5 feet tall but lovely, warm face. I remember I used to walk up to her and ask her to help me find a book LOL. Count Blofeld 20:20, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yep I see you are also on the ball, thats exactly what I thought. Hilary Swank is the best out of those I think. Jolie is a great actress too but with her and Halle Berry I find myself more focused on how fit they are than how they are acting. Halle Berry by just how beautiful she is and Jolie by just how sexually magnetic she is. You can just tell that Jolie is one wild animal in the bedroom LOL! She has even admitted this. I've lost count of how many seriously straight women have admitted having a lady crush on Jolie! Count Blofeld 20:29, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I used to too. She is great in Shakespearean dramas and historical epics, same as Gwyneth Paltrow. Count Blofeld 20:37, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Best living actors? Mmm now thats more difficult. Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise, Dustin Hoffman, Tom Hanks, Morgan Freeman, Robert de Niro, Al Pacino, Anthony Hopkins, Daniel Day-Lewis, Michael Caine, Kevin Spacey, Tommy Lee Jones, Denzil Washington? These have to be amongst the best I think. I've always been particularly impressed by Kevin Spacey and Anthony Hopkins. Brilliant actors who don't rely on looks to make them stars. In terms of sheer acting talent I'd probably consider Kevin Spacey one of the best actors today. Count Blofeld 21:06, 18 November 2008 (UTC) Count Blofeld 20:58, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yup I forgot those actresses, I've added them to the list. Shahid you know I much I'm into action and western films. Stallone, Arnie, Clint Eastwood, Bruce Willis, Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren these guys are all action icons and amongst my favourite actors. Clint Eastwood and Steven Seagal are amongst my favourites for "bad ass" acting but I wouldn't consider any of them except Eastwood and perhaps Bruce Willis for being flexible or even great actors. Steven Seagal and Dolph are extremely monotonous with their films in particular to the popint that no mainstream Hollywood company wants to employ them these days because they are too wooden, and as a result have to turn to direct to video low budget B-movies. Naturally I would have included Brando in the list but he is dead!! Count Blofeld 22:23, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Obviously!! Most of the greatest actors who ever lived died long ago! Mmm Nicholas Cage is a good actor but I really don't like him, the same with Russell Crowe. Count Blofeld 22:31, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree completely (again!!). Seagal is not an actor but as action fighter is quite something. Yes Leo has also made some amazing performances. I thought he was quite excellent in The Aviator. Matt Damon has also made some very credible performances in films like The Talented Mr. Ripley and Bourne and Mark Wahlberg and Edward Norton have also demonstrated their ability to play a wide range of roles. Count Blofeld 22:45, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Haven't seen it. Yes demonic little girls often make freaky films. Count Blofeld 22:50, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

LOL have you seen any of the Will Sasso comedy sketches. LOL. I love the squint he does of Seagal. LOL Count Blofeld 23:03, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

OTRS images

edit

Sure buddy... I'll see what I can do!!! :)) Shahid, I needed to talk to you about something. I have a noticed some users violating the IndiaFM licence procedures and this is really saddening me :(( User:Riana (now retired) and I worked so hard to get the issue sorted out and people are uploading images without following procedures. Under the "template documentation", it clearly states "Don't just upload images from there and put this license on it - all images from IndiaFM must be verified, individually or in small batches, by OTRS. This may be considered inconvenient, but it is a lot more inconvenient for people to have to delete all the images because one person may have done it wrong." I know users are not following procedures since they are just copying and pasting the licence as per how it is on Image:KareenaKapoor.jpg, Image:PreityZinta.jpg and several others (These images were the first of several batches I uploaded onto Commons.) The ticketed part of the licence by the OTRS should be based on when the OTRS ticket the images upon receiving your e-mail. A clear example of an image violation procedure is Image:Konkona-and-Ranvir.jpg and perhaps Image:Konkona Sen Sharma.jpg too. -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 17:25, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Clearly nothing!!! I seriously don't know what to do!! BTW, there is another problem buddy!! Some idiotic user by the name of User:Srkhan2 is moving random pages for no reason. Take a look at his contributions!! -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 17:35, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Another violation of the uploading procedure: Image:Priyanka chopra at filmfare launch.jpg!! :(( BTW Shahid, I needed to ask you something!! I recently uploaded 2-3 new images of Kapoor on Commons and was wondering if the main image on Kapoor's article should be replaced with one of the newer ones. What do you think?? :)) -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 18:18, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I asked Blofeld the same question as I did to you and he felt that Image:Kapoor on SRGMP Challenge 07.jpg was the best out of all of them!! What do you think?? Should I change it back to the original one?? Well, Image:Kapoor on NB4.jpg does show her wearing a salwar-kameez!! Isn' that a traditional outfit?? ;) LOL
As for Zinta's images, just send me the links of the images you want uploaded onto Commons and I will upload them over the next several days/weeks. [P.S. Please don't include too many as I still have to upload images for the actors you and Blofeld specified :))] Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 18:57, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Isn't it pathetic that lots of other sites have copied my work!! Count Blofeld 22:28, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Preity Zinta

Exactly, and it just goes to show that wikipedia is actually more reputable as an internet information source than give us credit for. Particularly articles on the more famous people in terms of neutrality we are actually one of the best sites. However the major problem is vandalism which leaves us open to botching things up. POV is often much greater even in more reputable/academic sources. Yes there are now hundreds of loser blogs and "find info" type sites on the web. every time we produce or expand an article on wikipedia within days it will be represented across the Internet on hundreds of sites. Why they think people will spend all their time on them rather than wikipedia itself (being free anyway) they don't stand a chance! But yes I've lost count how many times I've seen wikipedia content used in mainstream media. Count Blofeld 12:38, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nadia Bjorlin the world's most beautiful woman?

I dunno, Rai doesn't do it for me these days. Obviously very beautiful but I don't find her that attractive. I actually find Bipasha Basu much hotter. Oh I think Nadia Bjorlin is genetically one of the most perfect looking women I've ever seen but there are also many, many stunning looking women. Probably the most amazing looking eyes I've ever seen though, Haifa Webbe is also one that stands out in my book. Not surprising though, as Days of Our Lives always seem to feature ridiculously, almost impossibly good looking people. Count Blofeld 16:41, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes there are many beautiful women, there are too many Indian actresses to think of who are stunnimg. Me personally though I very much like women with distinctive blue or green eyes, but with long dark hair, often Arabic looking women. I think it is often a stunning contrast. Angelina Jolie is another who has lighter eyes and long dark hair. Yasmine Bleeth in the 1990s I also had a huge crush on who has green eyes etc. Count Blofeld 17:09, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey Shshshsh what do you think of this DYK tagline:

I'm getting really fed up with having to revert people. It drives me round the bend. You edit something and then the next time you check the article it has been removed by an IP or some dumb person who doesn't know what is acceptable. Count Blofeld 14:54, 21 November 2008 (UTC) See what I mean. My mothers name is "Margaret Anderson". Now there is a Swedish politician called Margareta Andersson! Count Blofeld 21:36, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ah thats sweet. Yes my mother is probably the least likely person I know who would become a politician. Shes too sweet and nice looking to be mixed up in ugly politics! My sister on the otherhand would make a perfect politician as she is pretty ruthless and very self confident! I wasn't referring to the profession but the name. My great grandfather's name was Albert Anderson. We have a Albert Andersson too! Somewhere in my family history we anglicized the surname from Andersson to Anderson! Count Blofeld 22:03, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Confused

edit

Hey Shahid, while looking through the article "List of top Bollywood films", I found something quite confusing. BoxOffice India.com lists the top grossing films of the year in two different ways on its site. The first way is like this whilst the other way is like this. Do you know why both of them don't have the same films listed as the "top hits" of that year. For e.g. for the top hits of 2006, the first chart lists D2, LRMB, Krrish, Fanaa & RDB as the top 5 films of the year whilst the second chart lists D2, LRMB, Krrish, Vivah & Fanaa as the top 5 films of the year. Regarding the confusion on the article "List of top Bollywood films", I was wondering which chart is used to compile the lists on that article? [Do you know if another source is used as well to help determine the top grossing films of the year?]

BTW, when will you be leaving by?? I want to work on a project with possibly you and Blofeld and was wondering whether you would be available to help me or not. My University is currently on strike, which is why I am able to come on Wikipedia right now. I am not sure as to when the strike should be resolved and when I would return back to class. Currently, I also have some papers to work on as well as some readings to do though I might be able to work on this project slowly slowly over the next several weeks and possibly even months. -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 04:04, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for explaining that to me!! It really helped me a lot!! :)) As for the project I was talking about, I wanted to delete the article "List of top Bollywood films" and incorporate the information from that article into its respective years, such as how it is seen in the article "Bollywood films of 2007". After that, I plan to add only the recipients of the Filmfare Awards for that year, such as how it is seen on "Hollywood films of 2007". I might add other notable awards (Star Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards and IIFA Awards) but I am not sure yet!! I definitely want to add the recipients of the Filmfare Awards. As for how the films are listed in a table, I want to organize that into how it is seen on the article "Hollywood films of 2007". (P.S. I was only thinking of organizing the films like that from the year 2004 onwards. The reason I picked the year 2004 was because we would be able to use this to help us sort out the films to when they were released. Originally, I wanted to do it from the year 2000 onwards but they don't have this for the films that were released from 2000-03; they only have this for the films from 2004-present) As for the earlier films to 2000, we can list them like how they are listed on the article "Hollywood films of 2004". Films from 2000-2003 can be left the way they are [in the table/chart format] but we should just make the article look more presentable. Articles related on Bollywood are so deprived as no one is helping improve them whilst the articles on Hollywood are developed so much. I want to work on these articles over the next couple of months and was wondering if you and Blofeld would help me with this :)) So will you?? -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 19:50, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I never realized that so many things had to be done!!! Personally, I thought that we would just be able to develop the article like that without too many complications and chaos. BTW, what other important things are you talking about?? Let me know!! (P.S. I am currently doing a test edit to see how the page would look like if all these changes were made. Don't worry as I won't be saving the page.) -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 20:44, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I would thank Blofeld if its a normal course of labelling articles, but deliberately inducing someone to label particular articles is highly objectionable. I read the talk page before commenting.

You're again thretening me with "Remember that". What do you mean by "you're not doing anything to go further"? lets have some adult discussion here.

Trying to show off, attitude such as "i'm better than you" is not on. There was a spooling error with my Internet connection, sorry, i did not intend to send 3 messages. Good Luck Randhir 16:50, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

The budget does not matter. Fashion did not gross enough, and it was declared "above average". It is neither one of the top-grossers nor one of the biggest hits. ShahidTalk2me 15:32, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I know. I couldn't find anything whatsoever that proved that the film existed let alone something that could be used to expand it. Google hit "Pooja 1976" and the first entry and only entry that comes up is ".... "superhit". It isn't a good look. Many of the Tamil or Telugu films at least have some site that can be found however dubious that mentions the film. Its high time the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam articles were cleaned up, as has been mentioned at WP:Films they are some of the articles which most urgently require attention and sources to verify them. Its gradually improving but thhose one liners labelling the films "superhits" with no google hits are rather worrying. If he chooses to take an effort to help him improve as negative and continues to edit as before there is nothing further I can do to stop him. I am rather concerned that UniversalHero too is also no longer speaking to me because I asked him to try to reference his articles and has taken it to heart. And if you check his user page I have even awarded him a barnstar in past for his great efforts to improve South Indian cinema and much appreciate his work. Wikipedia is very open to films but they still need to be verifiable. Count Blofeld 12:13, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah baby have a listen to this. Rockin. So much energy. I've love southern rock like The Black Crowes, Lynard Skynard and The Allman Brothers. Have a listen to some of my favourite songs of all time. Remember I have A HUGE!! music base. My dad has several thousand CDs and I have around 700 too and I have a very wide range of influences. These are amongst my favourites. Music is kinda what makes me tick! Over the Rainbow Tuesdays Gone, Fields of Gold, Comfortably Numb (the guitar solo is one of the most beautiful of all time), Human Touch Desperado, Angel Tears in Heaven. Count Blofeld 16:36, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I know. One more Left of the Middle. Love that song. I'm having computer trouble at the moment its taking ages for pages to save. I'll be back as soon as I can. Byeee! Count Blofeld 17:26, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Part of the reason I love that Natalie Imbruglia song is because it reminds me of my first serious girlfriend Natalie (who ironically was called Natalie!). She was 1/4 Greek and really lovely. I bought the album on its day of release remember Torn? I was 14 I think and we used to play the album over and over together.Ahh. Count Blofeld 18:29, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Heres something I haven't told you before. I swear its true. Cyril Lakin a former politician lived 15 metres away from me in the farmhouse behind my house. This may sound strange or disbelievable to you but I've seen his ghost twice. Once I was playing golf on the course behind my house in about 1998 with a friend and at the corner of 13th and 14th there is clearing between the woods. Both my friend and I saw a figure of an old man with a brown cap and tweed jacket that we could have sworn was him. When we got there the tee off on the fourteenth he had vanished. Also about a year and half ago July 2006 I swear I woke up about 2 am and there was a guy in a farmers cap and padded olive green body warmer like he used to wear standing by my attic room door. The moonlight often reflects off the window but the image of him was unmistakeable. I jumped out of bed and turned the lights on and there was nothing but I swear I was shivering cold which was really peculiar as it was hot summer night in July. I've never seen anything else like it but I swear, you'll have to take my word for it we didn't imagine it. I'm not the only one who has experienced it. I know at least 10 people on my estate who have felt some kind of presence while walking their dogs and often the dogs have gone crazy barking at what looked like nothing. Every time you walk past the old barn behind my house, my dad has felt it too when picking blackberries you get a very strange sense that he is there watching you. Never seen him since. Count Blofeld 22:10, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ever experienced anything like this? You probably think I imagined it, but I swear on my life it is true. Do you believe me? Count Blofeld 22:25, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I know its difficult to explain, you have to experience it personally to full understand it. Well I still don't understand it. The second time really affected me, I've never felt anything like it before and haven't since but I can still see his stern looking face and sleeveless jacket in the doorway watching me. I really can't explain it but the image is so vivid that I'm certain my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. It never has before or never has since!

My dad is the most level headed, rational and honest person I know. When I told him about Lakin he looked at me and said "I believe you. I've never seen anything like that but I felt damn certain on a number of occasions somebody has been watching me next to the old barn when I've been picking blackberries. I had expected him to laugh his head off at me and say "Yeah right" Chuckle chuckle. He has a wonderful sense of humour anyway but he was deadly serious. He had never told anybody this before but said back in the 1970s he was standing in the hallway in his sisters old house in Llandaff looking at Victorian era photographs and he was 110% certain his sister had joined him he could actually sense somebody standing directly behind him. He spoke to his sister pointing to the photo on the wall "Ah the woman second from left is our mother's Aunt Silvia isn't it?". There was no reply. He turned around and there was nobody in the hallway, nobody in sight. He went to find his sister and she had been in the kitchen at the opposite end of the house nowhere near it. He asked her, "I thought you were just out in the hallway". She rmeoved her hands from a kneeding bowl she was making bread in and said, "Do I look like I've been in the hallway"? Count Blofeld 11:24, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

The only other time in my life when I've personally felt really weird and that there is somebody not quite right about a place is Alcatraz prison in San Francisco. It was the most chilling place I've ever been too and the negative vibes I got from that place were really really low. It was dreadful feeling of hopelessness, despair and damnation that words cannnot describe. It literally made me feel down for a few days afterwards so much of my time in San Francisco was a unusual one. I wished I'd never visited that prison thats for sure! Anyway I thought I'd tell you about these experiences as a friend as I thought you might find them interesting. Anyway onto more happier things!!! Count Blofeld 11:24, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes my sister revisited Alcatraz inside the prison last year when she was living over near San Francisco for the year and described it exactly the same way as I remember it. Truly wretched place. Have you ever been to America? Count Blofeld 14:08, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Definately, especially if her family is of Nepalese descent. There are of course various ethnic groups in Nepal so often southerners look more northern Indian and northerners/easterers look Tibetan or Mongol (Sherpa) etc looking. Count Blofeld

Doesn't it depend on whether she spent any of her childhood/early life in Nepal? I have a guy I know who was born in Cape Town, South Africa but he obivously isn't "South African-Welsh" because he was just born there. His parents are Welsh and brought him back home immediately. If our actress was born in Nepal to Indian parents and taken back to India in the same way then she is a Nepali born Indian actress. If her parents are Nepali/and or she spent some of her early life in Nepal however, this would distinguish whether she is actually a Nepali Indian or not Count Blofeld 17:59, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Manisha Koirala was born into the politically prominent Hindu Koirala family; Her grandfather Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala was the Prime Minister of Nepal." A clear Nepali Indian. I hadn't even looked at the article. Count Blofeld 18:16, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I watched a programme last night and Angelina Jolie was interviewed on it talking about her new film. She is so sincere in interviews. She seems so intelligent and there is great wisdom in her eyes. Anyway they showed clips of her with Clint Eastwood hugging him and laughing with each other and you should see the way they gaze at each other. If Brad pitt wasn't around I swear she'd be dating him! They clearly are besotted with each other. There is something about it here Count Blofeld 11:48, 26 November 2008 (UTC) I dunno I also thought that until I saw her with him and the way they looked at each other. Oh!!! Now I see what you are talking about!! LOL... Things related to box office collections really confuse me!!! :)) [That is why I previously asked you about the article "List of top Bollywood films"] Now I understand it clearly.... Although a film grosses more than another film, what matters is its final adjusted gross... Even though GR has grossed more than K3G internationally, we will have to wait for the final adjusted gross to determine if the former has replaced the latter as her "highest-grossing" film to date. It all makes sense to me now!!! Ha Ha!! LOL =D As for now, I will wait until the end of the year for BOI and IBOS to update Kapoor's article!!! Thanks a lot bud!!! Take care!!!
