Welcome!

Hello, Shirley O, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  - Lucky 6.9 01:10, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

signing edit

Not a biggie, but you don't need to type the four tildes "~~~~" in the edit summary box. The software notes the editor and date/time. The tildes are a preferred option for use on talk pages. Cheers. LessHeard vanU 11:25, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Photos edit

As I'm guessing you've better access than me... Do you know if there are any true public-domain photos of the band around, or if you're able to take some/rustle some up & release them? At the moment, the only thing to illustrate what they look like is the fair-use cover of The Kitchen Tapes; because this is a fair-use image, it's only usable to illustrate the album and not the band, so has to lurk down the bottom in the discography; it also raises copyright violation problems preventing Wikipedia from using this article on its CD-ROMs or on the main page. I did contact Gina a while back off-Wiki to try to rustle some up, but thought you might be better placed to do so - thanks. At some point, I do intend to clean up and expand this article (and possibly merge Gina & Ana's separate articles back into it) as it's a fairly unstable article, and the subject is, if anything, becoming more significant as time goes byiridescent (talk to me!) 12:37, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:The Raincoats.1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:The Raincoats.1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:09, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:The Raincoats.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:The Raincoats.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. B (talk) 15:02, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of The Lighthouse (Ana da Silva album) edit

The article The Lighthouse (Ana da Silva album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 09:12, 16 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

I took out the PfD. But the article is thin, just track titles, and may well yet get deleted. The thing to do is add some sourced info, and/or review quotes. If such things exist. Wwwhatsup (talk) 03:33, 17 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
