License tagging for Image:Proof.PNG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Proof.PNG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:09, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

If the above notice is confusing, it basically means you need to put a tag under the image that says you created it. There are some examples of tags that are applicable to image creators at Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#For_image_creators. You need to pick one of those, such as {{GFDL-self}} (a pretty standard one), and replace the template that looks like this: {{untagged|month=March|day=6|year=2007}}. If you don't, it might get deleted. Let me know if you need help. Leebo T/C 03:07, 8 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

You are you edit

Heh! I like that picture. Ok, you're Shelby Young. I'm fine with that. Welcome to the strange world of wikipedia. :-)

While on the topic of pictures, could we get a nice GFDL image for your wikipedia article as well? You'd have an advantage over many other artists that way!

Hah thanks. But, my mom made me take the picture down. Thing is, I don't know how to delete it from the website. Do you know? Thanks =)

Shelby 03:34, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Shelby. It looks as though the photo has been deleted. I'm getting a red letter link when I type in the name of the photo, which usually means it has been deleted and is no longer on the site. If you could show me where the pic is still up, I'll talk to an admin about removing it.

Ispy1981 03:58, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Look in the bot message above for a link to the pic. Leebo T/C 03:59, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Aha! So, speedy deletion, then?

Ispy1981 04:01, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I looked through WP:CSD for a tag that could be used for images that is like {{db-author}} is for articles, but I didn't see one. I have to admit, I'm not the most knowledgeable about image policy. Leebo T/C 04:03, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
db-author is under the general category; it doesn't only apply to articles (that would be A#). Anyway, I tagged it, and someone else deleted it, so it's all good now. Hbdragon88 04:55, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ha, that makes two of us. Ispy1981 04:07, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

{{db-author}} is valid for anything the author is the sole creator of per WP:CSD#G7. HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 04:55, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ah, cool, thanks for the clarification. Leebo T/C 04:58, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Beat you to it by a few seconds, lol. Hbdragon88 05:01, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks guys! :]

User name edit

I'm afraid that, though some editors seem to be happy that you're Shelby Young, I'm not. Aside from anything else, you've added information to Shelby Young about Bridge to Terabithia (2007 film) which is not only contradicted by IMDb and the film's Web page, but by Shelby Young's Web page. I've placed the account at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names; you are free to join in the discussion there. If you can demonstrate your identity (I'm afraid that a photograph is too easily doctored to do that), that would be good.

If you are Shelby Young, what is the basis for your claim that you should be in the credits of Bridge to Terabithia? --Mel Etitis (Talk) 13:43, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry about the concern about you identity, this was already settled before. The photograph is a normal way to confirm such things, it was not doctored, you can tell when it is not doctored especially on a webcam image because of the artifacts. I will attempt to clarify. Hello, Shelbyyoung. While there had been some discussion here about whether your username met Wikipedia policy on what usernames editors can use, the result was to allow it, and that discussion has now been closed. If you would like to see what concerns were raised, you can still find that discussion in the archive (here). You do not need to change your username. However, if you ever wish to do so, it is possible for you to keep your present contributions history under a new name: simply request a new name here following the guidelines on that page, rather than creating a whole new account. Thank you. -- HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 15:05, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Archiving edit

You asked me about removing stuff from your talk page. You are allowed to simply delete content from your talk page, but you may wish to archive it instead, you can find instructions for archiving here: WP:ARCHIVE. HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 18:01, 18 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Zip edit

Just wanted to let you know, an admin has removed the Zip credit as unsourced, for now. If you can find a source for it, let me know, and I'll replace it or you can do so yourself. Oh, and I don't believe the IP's claim of being you and will pass it on to admins to examine.

Sure :]

Futon Critic (it's at the bottom of the page)

Is that sufficient? Futon Critic isn't a fan site, I don't think. It lists upcoming projects, and such. Oh, and I'll leave a comment on the page Real96 was telling me to, later today.

Thank you!

Shelby 23:53, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'll add the credit to the page with the attribution and see if it will hold. Thanks.
