Welcome
editHello, Shaune91 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students.
If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.
Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.
Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}}
on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.
We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Jauerbackdude?/dude. 15:48, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

I am thinking about adding a citation to an article "16th Division (Imperial Japanese Army).
Hello, Christopher, I think that is a good idea. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iudcl (talk • contribs) 15:15, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
Creating an Article
editOne additional question, was we supposed to create our OWN articles?
Response
editHi Shaune91!
I took a look at your proposed article and offhand, I do have to warn you that this article is fairly comprehensive. This doesn't mean that you can't edit the article, just that it will be more difficult to find content to add to the section because you'll have to find material to add that isn't already in the article and that wouldn't be seen as too detailed (ie, material that could be in the main article for Tian). Also, you don't have to make your own, new article, although if you see a topic that isn't covered that you'd like to write an article on, you can definitely ask your professor if it's OK.
Something that I can suggest would be to look at the stub articles at Category:Chinese religious biography stubs as well as at Category:China_stubs. Some articles that need to be expanded include the one on Chinese academic dress and The Big Red Book of Modern Chinese Literature. Also, while this isn't a stub the article on Baidu Baike (China's version of Wikipedia) needs to be improved, as well as the article on the Chinese Wikipedia. Both look like they have material that needs to be updated, sourced, or otherwise improved. You may also want to look into improving the article on the book Wives and Concubines, which was made into the film Raise the Red Lantern. One version of the film was actually banned in China for a period of time. The book touches on the topic of homosexuality and the concubine system in China, which were pretty controversial topics when the book was written.
There are also stub articles at Category:Chinese mythology stubs, and the articles Confucius Genealogy Compilation Committee, Honker Union, and Red Hacker Alliance may interest you. The last two are Chinese hacker groups. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 21:00, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
Went to a Different Article
