Help me please!

I have a question about the two logos (above) which I uploaded. Please can someone help me to choose the correct copyright tag because I am not sure which one I have to choose. I took the logos from the Bliss and B4 MySpace pages.

Many thanks Senna.

These images are copyrighted and not free use, but fair use. Thus, they will be deleted because you uploaded the logos without the permission of the author. Wikipedia does not allow non-free copyrighted images in order to distribute on userpages, just on mainspace. Cheers. Miranda 17:51, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your reply.

Can I ask the author for permission and if I get permission, re-upload the logos, with the correct copyright tag, next time!?! :) Or can I upload them from a website such as http://www.lyngsat-logo.com/logo/tv and tag them as a logo?

Thank you Senna. --82.12.188.36 17:58, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

You can try. However, myspace has an explicit policy on having their images not reproduced without a commission. So, in essence, you have to pay in order to get the images. Also, next time, do not upload images from a copyrighted source such as Myspace without attaining permission. Miranda 18:02, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, you cannot upload images of logos from the website to Wikipedia without permission. See the image copyright links above. Miranda 18:04, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
For this, you have to contact the individual company in order to gain permission in order to add to Wikipedia. Miranda 17:27, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

A few weeks ago I e-mailed Bliss about using the logo for the wikipedia article and on the 18th June 2007 I recieved a reply saying that they were fine with the logo being used for the article, and they also sent a copy of the logo for use with the article. So can I now upload it and what copyright tag do I have to choose.

Many thanks Senna

You have to e-mail a copy of the request and response to Wikimedia, as well as listing it on a dedicated page with all details. See Wikipedia:Example requests for permission for more information. Bjelleklang - talk Bug Me 19:32, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Commercial use of Image:Bliss logo.gif

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Bliss logo.gif, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Bliss logo.gif is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Bliss logo.gif itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:57, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Film24logo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Film24logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:01, 5 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Spam in Zee Muzic

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Zee Muzic, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Zee Muzic is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Zee Muzic, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Truemovies2logo.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Truemovies2logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:22, 19 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Fizztvlogo.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Fizztvlogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 18 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
