Hey Sandchigger, great to have you. Are you also RJCraig? You both seem the same and he recently said he wouldn't use that account. Just wondering Konman72 22:29, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Interesting question. Like that concerning the likelihood of the joining of two very different (and apparently incompatible) religions to form Buddislam, the answer can only be..."Anything's possible." :)

I'm ambivalent and I was unaware of the vandalism. After the first vandalism I didn't see a point.

Kevin's page

I thought I had him on watch...guess I was wrong lol. Thanks for watching it and doing the right thing. It's now on my watchlist so I can help out. Konman72 18:55, 17 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't know any admins, but know how to handle constant vandals. I'll slap a warning on his talk page, and if he keeps doing it then I'll report him. Thanks for the heads-up Konman72 07:57, 26 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
I made a comment on the talk page for KJA, hopefully we can show him how this whole thing works and he will let it go, or fix the problems with the paragraph. If he continues putting it up then I'll warn him, but I am hoping we can work it out on the talk page. Thanks again. Konman72 08:16, 26 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Um...

You don't know me, (I'm relatively new), but I thought I might bring something to your attention. When I went to the Kevin J Anderson page, there was this big long paragraph criticing him. I tried to edit it, but I gave up because I didn't know what I was doing. Then I went to the discussion and saw that you were talking to an anonymus user about the paragraph, and I didn't really get the whole picture, but it looks like whoever wrote it is pretty mad at you. I don't know. I just thought I'd give you a heads up, because it looks like you were trying to stop the user from posting the paragraph, and I agree, so I just thought I'd try to help out any way I can.

Thanks

Thanks for my official invitation! Don't worry, I won't muse on that little problem. Thanks for the links! Infolithium 03:03, 26 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Indeed, it would seem so. Odd though, I don't know what I did to piss him off. Must be a sock-puppet or something (I have one person in mind, but it is Stargate related, not Dune so you won't know him). Konman72 00:06, 6 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Don't need to worry about Kevin's page...

SandChigger, a lot has gone on, and I'd like it if you would read my talk page. Basically, the only thing it boils down to is that the Kevin Anderson page won't be being changed any time soon. But still, it's a bit of a story, and something in me feels wrong not telling it to you. Infolithium 22:00, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Deletion of Arrakeen forums

Hello! If you are talking about "Dune_Forum" at invisionfree, the forum has only 240 members. The guidelines does not give a minimun amount of members because it is common sense not to accept links that have very few members compared with the popularity of the subject. Respectfully, for Dune, a forum with 240 members is not notable enough to be an external link. In example, Dreamers of Dune has over 2100 members. Personally, I am removing all invisionfree forums that have less than 500 members, leaving the ones between 500 and 1000 members to review later in great deep. Once I finish with the invisionfree ones, I will continue with the other types of forums. Hope this clarifies the matter. -- ReyBrujo 16:00, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I usually conduct/cooperate in reviews (see here, here, here, here, here and here). Truly speaking, I have done around 400 edits this weekend, removing near 250 non-notable forums, so I would be hard pressed if I were to point to which article you are referring. If you give me the article name, I can review all the links now, and post a review in the talk page to let people discuss about it. -- ReyBrujo 20:52, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re:Redred

Well, Redred hasn't vandalised since I gave him/her a final warning. If he/she returns, though, I'll list on AIV as a vandalism-only account, which should lead to a block. Heimstern Läufer 03:37, 5 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dune

i have NOTHING against Dune. It's just that a lot of Dune related pages needed sources/references. Some Dune pgs need to be heavily edited. Some Dune pgs should be DELETED as they do NOT meet Wikipedia criteria. Yrgh 09:22, 20 December 2006 (UTC)yrghReply

Dune Creator

We still don't have enough credible info concerning Dune's creator, that why I TAGGED it.09:24, 20 December 2006 (UTC)yrgh

Busy

Yeah, life has been pretty hectic the last few months. I'm trying to get things in order but it will probably be a while before I'm back to my normal operational levels. I'm going to try to check back in to the dune forums soon though. Konman72 11:14, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

He can say it is OR and then we can just work on the article to get some citations, but he has tagged articles for things before and then left them alone, hopefully that is what he will do here. However, citations should probably be added whenever possible. Konman72 11:16, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yrgh

OMG, this guy is an idiot. Unfortunately I think I "started" it in a way; I tagged some disambig page thing he did for speedy deletion, and then all of a sudden a few Dune articles were tagged as "unreferenced" -- and they were literally articles pulled from my recent contribs, things I'd made tiny edits on. He said it was because the articles needed references, but one he tagged was the Dune: House Corrino article, which as you probably know is one paragraph of synopsis, and the article itself is the source! I reverted the first few things he did immediately but I knew eventually the rest of the Dune posse would get in on the act. Anyway, I think he'll lose interest; it's too much to hope that he'll realize he's wrong! TAnthony 15:26, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

It seems like he's moved on from Dune attacks -- he's been editing articles on gay porn instead! TAnthony 22:46, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I WAS PERSONALLY ATTACKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Isn't PERSONALLY ATTACKING someone AGAINST Wiki policy!!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?! This user ATTACKED me TWO times!!!!!!!!!! Here's the attack that the below user posted! He should be reprimaned IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!! I highlighted his ABUSE:

ATTACK 1: [Repetition of TAnthony comment above. - edit:SandChigger]

ATTACK 2: This and MANY other articles have been tagged by User:Yrgh latly with nebulous reasoning. He says these pages fit into the deltion policy but he doesn't say how; he cites articles as unreliable and unsourced and yet they clearly are. It is ludicrous that discussions need to be held on dozens of pages to indulge his insane tagging. Can any idiot just tag AfDs? TAnthony 01:44, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Since becoming a Wiki editor, I'm been PERSONALLY ATTACKED THREE TIMES & NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The other time was when User: Juppiter called me an "asshole"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Consequences!? Yrgh 02:24, 23 December 2006 (UTC)yrghReply

Come any closer and I'll bite you, too. If you don't want people to refer to you using a particular ephithet, stop acting like one. --SandChigger 08:21, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Skipping over that little rant from Yrgh...This edit seems like the one that did it. He did edit right before that but he just put a random "U" on there. As I said though, no worries. Konman72 09:00, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
And I deleted both the U and my own comment when I got an edit conflict message, as I've explained on your page. (All getting a bit silly, ain't it?) --SandChigger 09:08, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Completely. Like I said I don't care at all, just a series of random mistakes/misunderstandings, but no real issue to be had. Konman72 09:11, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

He copied from a source for Illuminati and from vanderbilt.edu for an article on a Vanderbilt professor. I'm not going to file a bad faith RFC because I don't have a crystal clear record either. I'm just going to wait him out and wait for him to screw up again. Unless he reforms, he will just keep getting blocked anyway and eventually banned completely. Juppiter 04:16, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dune tags

It is inappropriate to list pages in both a parent cat and a child cat. All of the characters were listed in the child cat Category:Dune characters so they should not also be listed in parent cat Category:Dune. I also created Category:Dune technology to house tech items and moved all such items into that child cat. Otto4711 09:41, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Galaxy

Regarding the Butlerian Jihad article, I know that technically a galaxy can contain many star systems or whatever, but I think the word connotes a smaller scale (maybe because own galaxy is a single-star system). Obviously FH never specifies exactly how far apart his planets are and all that, but if they were relatively close, heighliner travel wouldn't be such a big issue! And FH never used the word galaxy (except in your Leto quote); maybe we should use "multigalactic" in the article. TAnthony 20:30, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

LOL, you present your case like I would: dumping a pile of bricks on the opposition! You are so right, I was thinking solar system, not galaxy; I guess I shouldn't make edits at 2 am with a couple of drinks in me!
Obviously, I did see those uses of galaxy but I guess I meant that he didn't ever imply that his whole host of planets was in a single galaxy (at least, I wasn't interpreting it that way), e.g. "in this galaxy one instant, in a faraway galaxy the very next heartbeat." TAnthony 00:54, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Landsraad

I was the one who recently pulled (what I thought was) the DE material into its own section, and on the top of the Landsraad talk page, I admitted that some info could potentially need to be moved out of that section when sources were found (I don't know EVERYTHING, LOL). You should definitely work the 2000-year item back in somewhere; I'll check back when I have some time and do it myself if you're not able (stealing your quotes, of course!)

I only have text files up to Dune: Butlerian Jihad, but it's probably worth flipping through the end chapters of Battle of Corrin to see if Landsraad is actually used in some way, or if we're just making the logical assumption that the League led to it? It's interesting how we read an article with questionable facts, and then edit another article with those "facts" in our heads as if they're lifted from the books! Hmmm, obviously the Prelude series came first, but could they have alluded to the League origins of the Landsraad there? TAnthony 05:57, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

10,000 years

OK, what is wrong with me?! Regarding the Butlerian Jihad article, I'm the one that put in the Jihad definition from Dune which clearly includes the dates. Maybe I should give myself a vacation, ;) 06:04, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Monkeys?!

Where is it you live exactly? I'm in Los Angeles ... by the way, the more I look at the FH books vs. the prequels and Hunters, the more I see ways in which the boys (BH/KJA) went wrong. Have you been slipping something into my drinks? ;) TAnthony 16:18, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Religions (Dune)

Oh yeah, love it! I've actually been working on some peripheral stuff as well... TAnthony 01:30, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Um...

No thoughts, I take it, on pbem site links? :) --SandChigger 03:06, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I do think most of these links are useless or inappropriate, but I figured I'd let other fight about it! At least for now there are a small number of external links on the "Dune novel page so it's not a huge problem. TAnthony 16:34, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's not down to either of you two to decide that. You do not own the article, you are not wiki administrators, and you are clearly misunderstanding the purpose and function of wikipedia and the principles of good faith. The additional fan links are relevant (they're fan sites!) and meet the wiki guidelines on linking, and they're adding content (not removing it) from the article. It seems I stepped in to make a contribution without realising an 'old boys club' existed, and I am sorry to break up the party but you do not have overarching control of this article no matter how much you wish it. I don't want to argue here: do you think I have the time or effort to be spending debating such a trivial point as inclusion of an external link on a wiki article? Not particularly. I'm sure you don't either. Instead, I am certain that our energies would be better spent on adding to the article and others on wikipedia. I suggest that there are a few options here.
1. We remove all of the external links since they are causing you such controversy.
2. We permit the inclusion of additional external links which meet the wiki guidelines.
3. We seek mediation over this, if you think that would help resolve the argument more effectively.
4. An edit war continues, possibly leading to a more serious intervention by administrators.
I would rather resolve this in a mature fashion, if it's all the same with you. Coldmachine 07:56, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sandworms

I don't have OTRS access but I've put in a request for another OTRS person to take a look at it. I'm sure it's on the level but I can't imagine that the authors or publisher would have an issue with it. I don't think they'll necessarily tell us the exact nature of the complaint and who made it, but I'd certianly like a 2nd opinion.
