Notability of Minority (band)

edit

A tag has been placed on Minority (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. StephenBuxton (talk) 10:23, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

(Note copied from article talk page) As it looks like you want to contest the page, I've added the Hang On tag to the page. As to their cultural significance, Wikipedia has a set of guidelines as to what makes a singer or music ensemble notable. Read the criteria at WP:Music, and see if the band meets any of the requirements. If they do, update the article accordingly (with references/external links), and your article will be gladly accepted.
As an aside, can you please make sure you sign your comments when posting on a discussion or user talk page? All you need to do is add 4 tilde (~) signs at the end of your comment. An even easier way is (when editing) to click on the signature icon at the top of the edit box. This is the one that is just to the right of the w in a red circle with a line through it. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please drop me a line on my talk page. StephenBuxton (talk) 12:12, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

This is a very immature stance to take to speak frankly. How is a website of this nature able to operate when its administrators are so drunken by the power bestowed upon them. The advice you have given me regarding changing my password is moot as I cannot use wikipedia due to a total block on my IP address. I request that the administration rfrain from being so pedantic in these matters as this situation is most inconvenient. I look forward to the removal of the block, by the administration in the nest hour. Thankyou

Decline reason:

Give it a rest, not a single edit from your account has been productive since the first edit, your request is denied. Blocks to an IP caused by a block on an account expire after 48 horus or so. — (1 == 2)Until 00:48, 25 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I HAVENT GOT 48 hours to wait JUST FULLY UNBLOCK MY ACCOUNT NOW ...

Decline reason:

That sort of response is an excellent example of why this account is blocked, even before we factor in the repeated creation of nonsense pages and harassment of other users. – Luna Santin (talk) 00:56, 25 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
