Finding an article

To find a good article to edit, check WikiProject Mass spectrometry, especially sections on articles by quality and importance: Wikipedia:WikiProject Mass spectrometry#Assessment; and articles by popularity: Wikipedia:WikiProject Mass spectrometry#Popular pages. There is also a tool that you can use to sort articles, for example Stub[1]and Start[2] class. Assignment 2 - Proposed Articles

  • Resonance ionizaton (RI) / Resonance ionization mass spectrometry (RIMS)

This article does not exist yet. This topic is suitable for article creation given that resonance ionization is common in various mass spectrometry ionization methods (usually involving the use of a laser). It is worth acknowledging via a Wikipedia article given its applicability in isotopic mass spectrometry.

This is a Start-Class, Low-importance article; the history and modern lack of use of this ionization method could be explained.

This is a Stub-Class article that could be improved with better sentence structuring and better grammar. Linking to different articles will also help Wikipedia users learn more about this topic (for example: "... ionization can be coupled to a Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FT-ICR) mass analyzer to improve detection..." - Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance should link to the corresponding article. Resonance ionization mass spectrometry would have to be done with an eye on resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization. Thermospray is good. Laser spray ionization is a little problematic since it has been used in multiple ways, the most popular being inlet ionization. --Kkmurray (talk) 21:18, 13 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Resonance ionization or resonance ionization mass spectrometry

Do you want the article you are working on to be [resonance ionization]] or resonance ionization mass spectrometry? You will have much more overlap with resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization with the former. --Kkmurray (talk) 20:56, 17 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
