Hello, I'm Donald Albury. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Juan Ortiz (captive) have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Donald Albury 19:33, 22 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Use of ancestry.com as a source

edit

Please be aware that the website ancestry.com has been judged by the Wikipedia community to be "generally unreliable" (see Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources). While GeneologyBank.com is not on that list, I have similar concerns about it and other geneology sites. Please avoid using any user generated content from such sites. Another concern is the use of primary sources found on all three of the sites you have listed on your user page. While primary sources may be used to fill out details in an article, secondary or tertiary sources are preferred in all cases. - Donald Albury 20:54, 3 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
