Hello, Rpizano9, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

You recently hit the feedback request button in your sandbox, but I don't see any draft article or edits there. Please let me know if you have any questions or there is anything I can help you with. Rob (Wiki Ed) (talk) 01:43, 10 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Copying licensed material requires proper attribution

edit

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Disability in Australia you included material from a webpage that is available under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 Australia license. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this legal requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:40, 10 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • I wanted to chip in a little here - it looks like the content from the Conversation was not released under a compatible Creative Commons license, as the material was released under a license that did not allow the material to be altered. It's also a good idea to re-write content in general because in many cases you will have content that, while being compatible with Wikipedia's CC license, isn't written in the type of tone or style that Wikipedia prefers.
