License tagging for Image:LisaFurukawaPearlDiver.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:LisaFurukawaPearlDiver.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:06, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:BookOfVileDarknessCoverPhoto.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:BookOfVileDarknessCoverPhoto.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Muchness 09:21, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Followup

edit

I'm a fan of hers and I created this page and will be the one doing most of the updating and maintaining for it.

I also have obtained Lisa's full permission to do so.

The pictures on her profile are copyrighted by HER and I have also been given permission to use them on here.

If someone at Wikipedia can please contact me and let me know exactly what needs to be done to correct these error messages I keep getting, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

In order to accept into Wikipedia content which is published on another website, we usually require a clear statement from the author of the content that the content is being licensed under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (see http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html or GNU_Free_Documentation_License) or that all rights are released; this image is currently tagged with both. This statement must come from an email address that we can clearly recognize as being from the operator of the website, or be in reply to a message sent to the operator of the website. This email should be sent to mailto:permissions@wikimedia.org.

In addition, we need to know exactly which article or articles contain the copyrighted material in question. The English Wikipedia has over a million articles, and finding the one you're referring to while knowing only the topic of the article can sometimes be quite difficult.

Thank you for your understanding. We do this in order to protect the copyrights of authors who do not wish their work submitted to Wikipedia, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. --Rory096 22:41, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Live at Lowlands 2408

edit

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Live at Lowlands 2408, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Orphaned non-free image (Image:Reaching.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Reaching.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?
