Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Santa Ana, Manila may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. Please avoid copying-and-pasting, use WP:MOVE instead

edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/San Nicolas Fire Station a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into San Nicolas Fire Station, Manila. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 03:05, 4 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please be careful using brochures

edit

At least one of your contributions, Archdiocesan Shrine of Saint Anne, reads like it might have been copied out of a travel brochure. One of the sources you list is a travel brochure.

Please remember that this is an encyclopedia, not a travel guide. The text should be written in an encyclopedic tone, not the tone of a travel brochure.

Also, make sure that you do not, under any circumstances, copy material verbatim or use WP:Close paraphrasing unless your usage meets one of the exceptions outlined in Wikipedia:Copyright policy. In general, short quotations are allowed provided they have an in-line citation and it is necessary to have the direct quotation rather than rewriting it in your own words. Longer quotations are generally only allowed if the text is in the public domain (this rules out almost everything created in the last few decades) or if the text has been previously published under a "free" license. Very few travel brochures will meet this requirement. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 15:20, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
