Hi there, welcome to Wikipedia and congratulations on your first article (Composers in Red Sneakers)! I saw your note on my talk page, and decided to reply here to inaugurate yours. Apologies for my late reply—I got carried away making Philip Brett.

I've had a look at both articles. I improved the referencing on CiRS and removed the meta-comments on where to find reviews (belongs on the talk page, not as a reference). I'd say Roger Bourland is pretty much still at start class. My clean-up tag related to the extensive use of inline external links which do not directly reference statements made in the article (a no-no), and the unformatted list of compositions, etc. This has largely been addressed now. What keeps the article at this level is:

1. The sources used to reference it which are predominantly sources which are not independent of the subject. See Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources for more on this.
2. The list of compositions is very long, but the actual prose is very short. To move higher up the scale, it would need to incorporate more discussion of style, critical reception, performances, etc., all of them referenced to reviews and articles in reliable, independent sources. WikiProject Composers has some guidance on article structure here. The Project also has a Guide to online research which you might find helpful.

Editing an article about yourself can have some pitfalls. You've probably already read it, but just in case, have a look at the guidance on Wikipedia:Autobiography.

It looks like WikiProject Contemporary music has gone rather quiet now (at least on their talk page), but they have plenty of work to do and could use all the help they can get at their "Work in progress" page.
