Hi, regarding your dispute with Vsmith at Pikes Peak, there is a WP:COI issue if the link is to your own site or one in which you have an interest. You should probably take your case to Talk:Pikes Peak. Viewfinder (talk) 16:08, 22 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

@Viewfinder: Thanks - not being a regular contributor, I'm not even sure how to do what you are suggesting. I can assure that there is no conflict of interest.

I do know the author by name, through a newspaper article and a local TV news report on his effot. His name is Shaun Daggett. How would I show that is not me? I have no material interest in the site. I'm just a fan of the images that Shaun has taken of the mountain I get to see every day. The images are much better than any of those currently on Wikipedia for Pikes Peak.

How would I 'take my case' to the Talk:Pikes Peak page? Is there a way to enter a new item in there?

edit

You can edit talk pages just like you edit main pages. You can point out that a link you added to the main page has been deleted, explain why yoiu think that that link should have been retained, and deny conflict of interest like you have done above. Other editors can then comment on whether or not that link should be restored. A link to the news report would also be useful, if you can find it. Viewfinder (talk) 12:53, 23 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
