Three strikes

edit

This is incorrect for these three reasons:

  1. MOS:COMMA: "On Wikipedia, place quotation marks in accordance with the logical punctuation system". That means since the title, "8 Ball in the Top Pocket", did not contain a comma in the original, it should not contain a comma here. It goes outside the quotation marks of the title.
  2. WP:OVERLINK states that "the names of major geographic features and locations". So Austria should not be piped here. And if it were to be piped, it would not be piped this way, [[Austria|Austrian]], but this way: [[Austria]]n. That's two separate mistakes that we'll count as one.
  3. MOS:CAPS, specifically MOS:CT would make "Dancing In The Shadows" correctly presented as "Dancing in the Shadows".

Welcome to Wikipedia. I don't mean to be pedantic, simply following the manuals of style. Cheers.

I just saw the changes to my talk page. I too had to learn these rules. Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:44, 28 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

    • Oh, no, I appreciate your explaining it to me. I guess it's an "initiation" of sorts for me!
It's not a problem. I'm glad I both had the time to explain it and the chance to do so. Quite often experienced editors will simply use shorthand or simply link to the guidelines or manuals of style so you'll need to have some thick skin for the first few hundred edits. Glad you're helping to improve Wikipedia!

There is no consensus to remove that material from the Bill Cosby sexual assault allegations article, only from the Constand article. The IP is carrying on a long running disruptive campaign. -- BullRangifer (talk) 06:10, 20 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hello Rock Apologies your ID was somehow used in a comment by Jumplike23 and that is how this editor commented here. As for Bull this editor had suggested his ongoing defense of sensationalist materials from tabloids and gossip sites are in violations of BLP. As an example Bull changed the title of the Constand case in order to insert an item about Brown's comments in 2005 to the NATIONAL ENQUIRER the source cited also goes into such things as 'freaky sex' and was a check book jounnalism 'EXCLUSIVE'. Speedy deletion nomination of RespectAbility

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on RespectAbility requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — Diannaa (talk) 21:43, 16 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please do not create, maintain or restore hoaxes on Wikipedia, as you did at Robert Palmer (singer). If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia — and then to correct them if possible. Please do not disrupt Wikipedia. Continued disruption will be met with blocks or other sanctions. Feel free to take a look at the five pillars of Wikipedia to learn more about this project and how you can contribute constructively. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kix (band), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hagerstown (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Middle name added to Killing of Sherry Hart

edit

How was it really known her middle name was Elaine? America’s Most Wanted didn’t even mention her middle name while I was watching the show years ago. And the page just recently got reorganized in some areas for this Wikipedia page. Can you please clarify the reasons for these? Angela Kate Maureen Pears 16:51, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi Angela- So the middle name of "Elaine" came from the article I cited just after her full bolded name at the very beginning of the entry. The article identifies her as "Sherry Elaine Lyall Hart." As far as the reasons for the other updates to the entry, the way it was arranged in certain parts seemed to leave out a number of details. Among other things, at one point, the entry read "Bare followed her down..." Followed her down where? In the context of the information provided, it didn't make sense. So, I wanted to elaborate on the content, based on sources I had found, so that the information flowed logically. Please let me know if any of my additions were in error or superfluous. Thank you for your vigilance with this entry, as I certainly want to make sure I get everything right! RockNWrite82 (talk) 17:01, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
